Hugh Fearnley whittingstall is great in many ways; his views on farming, his programme making skills, his down to earth and charming character are not to be forgotten. These, together are what makes his shows so viewable and original.
This isn't River Cottage as we'd expect, in fact RC HQ isn't hardly featured, instead he's taken the bold step of recruiting town folk and geared them towards self sufficiency towards food. The show follows these people as they face all the dilemmas, hardship, satisfaction and well-being that is to be obtained in growing food and keeping livestock. The other parts features the more traditional solo missions that Hugh partakes with his viewers (which is what I really appreciate when I watch his stuff)
This DVD makes for entertaining viewing, though has no special features and isn't what you'd expect to see from a River Cottage DVD, I feel he may have used the RC name as a marketing device because of the success from his other shows.
