Great as usual,
This review is from: River Cottage Forever [2002] [DVD] (DVD)
I've always been a big fan of Hugh and this third (and last?) chapter ofthe River Cottage series certainly keeps up with the two previous series. This series has always been intriguing in my book: not only you get to learn few interesting recipes (I will certainly try at least the pavlova), but seeing Hugh at work in the field, helping his sheep deliver its lambs, fishing carp in the pond makes you really feel part of the show. In a nutshell the whole of the three series and this one in particuarl, are absolutely the BEST food series ever created: 33% reality show, 33% cooking show, 33% agricultural crash course = 100% SUCCESS! I certainly do hope (probably in vain) for a 4th series!

I am admittedly a Hugh groupie so have a totally biased view. Having said which this is as charming as the original DVD and unlike the second series is not simply a mish mash of the previous one.If you are at all interested in downsizing and where your food comes from then this is a must. Coupled with Hugh's very entertaining presentational style this is a very informative series. If this is your cup of tea you'll absolutely love this.

In this series Mr. F-Whittingstall takes the trinsition from hobby gardener to serious smallholder, and to me represents the perfect life. not as serious a John Seymour makes out that it must be, and obviously successful. and for some resaon hugh dosn't seem to annoy me as much as he did in the last two series. if you enjoyed the last dvd's, then this one is a must, and even if you didnt you still have to get it - its utterly brilliant.
