I LOVE this film. I have an old recording of it on video which I taped off Channel 5 in about 1998. This was the second time I'd seen it; the first being years earlier.

This is the kind of film that at times contains much fast-paced language and verbal humour which is sometimes hard to catch on first viewing. It's the kind of film to be watched over and over again as it gets funnier with each subsequent watching and you tend to pick up on humourous phrases that you missed on the previous viewing.

Definitely one of my all-time favourites; my mother, my husband and I all find ourselves using phrases and quotes from this film and chuckling away to ourselves.

This film needs to be out on DVD!!!!

Other reviewers have already covered most I would wnat to say but quite simply this film is a laugh from start to finish. Subtle humour mixed with slapstick and farce; over acting from Googie the diva with no voice but always looking for her Mr Big "movie producer" (watch out for a final llaugh on that topic!) A host of fine actors keep the action going from start to finish with innuendo and silent comedy thrown in for good measure.

I agree....it should be out on DVD by now !!
