Alan is priceless 30 Jan 2004
By "espriga" - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
Actually I have liked Price's music since I first saw the film "O'Lucky Man". It was around 1976 in soviet zone, Latvia. All these years the melodies have been with me and with their seeming simplicity, easiness and as if light approach to things around have helped to "survive" even at the hardest moments. Many years later I managed to gather a collection of Alan Price's songs and at home recorded a compilation of pieces I liked most in a separate casette. Well, and what do I see now? It is almost a COPY of the album "Rising Sun". Coincidence, you will say. Maybe. A coincidence which means, the album is really good! Thank You and stay priceless, Mister Price!

Overlooked Gem 12 Aug 2003
By A Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
If you liked O'Lucky Man, then you'll appreciate this collection. Where O'Lucky Man talks about big outside issues; religion, politics, business, etc., this album is introspective (except what is to me the weakest song - House of the Rising Sun which feels out of place here).
