This type of game won't appeal to everyone as it's one of those rather stats heavy RPG/TBS games. However, it stands out as a fantastic version of its genre and is worth getting. The in game graphics are only sprites, but with decent voice acting throughout and an animated intro, it is quite a good looking game.

It can get a bit boring though if you get onto a particually hard boss and are forced to travel round playing minor skirmishes. Also, a warning. DO NOT opt to use the touch screen controls, they are the worse thing on the DS! It is poorly callibrated no matter how many times i re-callibrate my screen, and you often find that it will not regonise were you are tapping or what you are tapping! The D-pad controls on the other hand are simple to use and bug free.
A minor critisms, the game can also lag a bit on certain area for some reason. But other wise if you want some good anime RPG/TBS game i can't recomend anything else as highly!

I didn't know about this game at first. i started playing it and found it very exciting. with voice acting, it seemed more realistic and i couldn't stop playing.
the battle system is little like Final Fantasy Tactics. But if you ask me, this game is easier by far. Make sure you level up well, cos some bosses are hard to beat. so don't rush through this game.
The storyline is brilliant, dramatic and adventurous. which is expected in all fantasies. I recommend it to everyone. Buy this game.

As a fan of the Tactical Roleplay Genre (e.g. Final Fantasy Tactics) I had to give this a try, but initially using the stylus controls I hated it as being far too difficult to select movement and attacks. I found my characters bashing each other as often as the enemy.

This week I dug it out again, and using the regular keypad controls it's much better, and I've played for about 7 hours so far, so it's keeping me hooked this time. One problem with DS games generally is that developers try to include stylus controls where they really aren't necessary. Thank goodness there was an option here.

The "chat" scenes drag on a bit with no possibility to save during them, but I find that is true of most tactical roleplay games. The shopping & equipping could have been slicker, but you don't have to shop very often.

The characters are voiced for many of the cutscenes, though not all the way through each conversation. This gives them more personality, though the personalities are occasionally annoying. Each has their own fighting style and equipment, so there aren't any strategic decisions to make regarding character class, as in FFT. Choosing your two accessories are the only real decisions to make regarding equipment.

Overall I'd recommend this game as there are so few games in this genre and I'd like to encourage ATLUS to do more, but hope they improve shopping so you can buy & equip in one screen, and sell the de-equipped item at the same time, and speed up the chat scenes a bit, as they rapidly become tedious.

This game has really nice graphics and the music in the game is really good as well. The opening movie is what made me love this game even more and it seems pretty amazing at how much they are cramming into the DS cartridge.
This has a really good story with plenty of twists and turns to keep you interested, also the battles are entertaining and can become very addictive.
The only negative with this game is that the touch screen controls are not perfect and a bit unresponsive so you'd be best using the d-pad. But overall this is a must buy!!!
