4.0 out of 5 stars Birthday Present 28 July 2009
Fun: 1.0 out of 5 stars
Old Reveiw 25 july 2009: This was a present for one of my sons friends aged 12. No information back yet!

Supply and delivery were excellent

New: Review 20 april 2010

Got some information back now. If you like the online game (swords and sandals 2)you will love this game. The graphics are sort of 7/10. You can fully customize your character (like sims 2 but different because the game is set in a differnt time) To start with the game is quite boring, starting with not much money and no real hit power. After a while when you are around level 7 onwards it is one of the most enjoyable gaming moments ever.

Menu: Is very good because (like on lego starwars) the level select is one of those you run around to select the level.

Gameplay: Going out side the gate to start with. HINT: is hard but if you find a direct route to the fountain and keep coming back to it when you have low HP. Battles are insane, as you run in to an enemy you then go to a different screen and you run around and attack it. (like dragon fable, but alot lot better)

Arena: Anoyingly but for a goood reason you can't visit the arena until level 2. A good place to find money to make your character look cooler and buy new weapons. Good place to go when you are a higher level.

Generally I would recomend it over warriors code 1 and 2. Really it depends what you like :)

5.0 out of 5 stars Satisfying Successor 23 Oct 2008
By cellotlix - Published on Amazon.com
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
I am something of an RPG freak, and as far as Valhalla Knights 2 goes, I was definitely satisfied. There are elements from the first Valhalla knights that are improved upon, such as extended character customization, which really helped make this game a win for me.

PROS
- The story was interesting and I was intrigued from the beginning. Though this is a dungeon crawler and there is lots of grinding involved, there is a coherent story also.
- The graphics are great for a PSP game. Everything looked crisp and clear on my screen.
-The battle system and subsequent battles are fast paced and exciting, but there is also an element of strategy involved. For you to be successful in battle, you can set up your character's formation, equip them with various different equipment. This is done before the battles actually start however. The game gives you ample time to prepare and countless enemies to gain experience from.
-The amount of customization is fantastic. There are hundreds of different weapons and armor types, the more powerful ones discovered as you become more powerful. You can also customize your class. You choose one class to start with (Fighter, Mage, Priest, Thief, or Monk) but you are not limited to this one class. In fact, you level up faster if you choose more than one class. For instance, you can choose to start as a Fighter and then when you reach level 10, choose to be a Monk and you'll start over at level 1 BUT still have the level 10 hit points and stats. Lastly, VH2 gives you the option to customize your characters appearance and race. For each different race, there are a selection of hairstyles and face types to choose from.
-The game is definitely not too easy. Items have to be analyzed before you can equip them or sell them, and the enemies become more difficult as you gain more experience.
CONS
-The only place you can save is at the hub town. This is easily remedied by pausing the game and then turning your PSP in sleep mode.
-There are no warp gates back to the hub town, which means to reach an area, you have to pass through the areas before it. However, once you fulfill your given quest, you can use the item ESCAPE CARD which takes you all the way back to the hub town's save point immediately. The escape card is available at the hub town's armory.

Overall this game is a great choice for those who enjoyed the first Valhalla Knights and love a good dungeon crawler.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good but not great 4 Aug 2010
By Gameboy - Published on Amazon.com
Fun: 3.0 out of 5 stars
I bought this game the other day and am slightly disappointed. I love the customization very much as you can change out your armor and weapons for each character you have in your party...up to 6 party members total. You can also change your jobs and spells, etc... I love the kinds of monsters you get to fight...venom bees, moths, mischiefs, mantis, hares, etc... The graphics are extremely lacking though. It is also taking soooo long to level up my characters. I am an old school rpg guy having grown up with them, but geewhiz I don't remember it taking this long to level up. Maybe it's just been so long I can't remember. =) Hopefully, the game will pick up pace. I have a number of hours invested in the game so far with my highest characters at level 11. If you don't mind taking awhile to level up before you can advance and don't mind subpar graphics, but want really good customization, then pick up this game cheap somewhere. Oh, another cool thing about this game is the types of characters and job classes you can choose from. Between that and all the customizing you can do is why I bought the game.

2.0 out of 5 stars Redundant Game Play 10 Sep 2009
By BobaTitan - Published on Amazon.com

Fun: 2.0 out of 5 stars
The three reviews written before mine basically touched all the points I wanted to express. However, here are a few I wanted to elaborate on:

*Walking through the entire map for every quest was down-played on the 4 & 5 star ratings. This is so redundant it made me put the game away. Escape cards are great to get you back to 'Town', but that's only half your battle. The further along in the game you get, you get so aggravated trying to get to point Z from Point A.

*There is absolutely no explaination on how to do anything in this game. While I don't want someone to hold my hand the entire game, getting the basics down is explained at a quantum physics level. You pretty much figure things out after hours of frustration.

*Character customization is an experience of its own. There are an abundant amounts of different items to use, but there really is no major difference from one to the other. Also, you never know which race can wear which item, so you either have to cycle through each item or attempt to memorize each race's compatibility (not happening).

*Although the game is co-op, there are only a handful of missions your partner and you can do together.

Even with these, the game is not entirely boring, hence the 2 star rating.

4.0 out of 5 stars Walk on Down, a lot. 3 Nov 2008
By M. VanGriffin - Published on Amazon.com
Fun: 3.0 out of 5 stars
Valhalla Knights 2 is much the same as the First game, you complete quests, gain levels, etc.
The GOOD: The Graphics are excellent. Easily the best point in the game. LOTS of areas to explore. Story is good, sound is good, and the Colliseum is a nice touch for quick leveling. And a Massive amount of quests to complete.
The BAD : Your going to do a lot of walking. There are no waypoint, or partals in the game. You'll have to trudge through several areas just to get where your going. With so many quests to do, sometimes its hard to figure out which to move the story along.

Aside form the constant time consuming walking, I'd Highly recommend this.
