Hilarious film based on the chart topping british comedy series following the exploits of Rigsby, outrageous bigot and owner of a sleazy boarding house in London. The tenants of Rigsby's boarding house include Philip, a black medical student, the son of an African chieftan and husband of twelve wives, whom Rigsby respects. Then there's Ruth Jones an attractive woman whom Rigsby has set his sights on. Ruth however, finds the well built, intellectual Philip more to her liking. But Philips more interested in his roommate John, whose soul purpose in life is losing his virginity to the voluptuos Sandra. The Rigsby households fragile romantic alliances are shattered by the arrival of the conspicuously suave seymore. The attractive miss Jones falls head over heels for the newcomer. But all he falls for is her savings book. As the complex tangles of romance and lust take their inevitable twists and turns, Rigsby's motley menage of borders provide a hearty houseful of hilarity.

This movie may be old, but it is an absolute classic! I rate this better than the TV series, even though Richard Beckinsale isn't in it (such a shame, but the chap taking his place doesn't do too bad a job in fairness).

There are subtle moments which make me laugh out loud - meaning that you HAVE to be watching it to get the gag, and really this film is full of those.

To put it bluntly, it's well worth a watch, even if you didn't like the original tv series (like me).
