Format: Audio CD
Rilo Kiley singer goes solo-ish and ends up sounding like a bit like an olde worlde Rilo Kiley. For tis a very old fashioned country tune, more Pure Prairie League than Parsons. Which is a good thing.

The harmonies are delightful and as harmony vocals are one of my all time favourite musical thingies, it makes me slightly less miserable for three minutes or so. Which is as good as it gets.

B-side, "Paradise" is considerably less essential but as both tunes are bedecked with some nice lyrical twists and turns it makes for a rather splendid single.

An amazing single. 30 Oct. 2007
By R. Thompson - Published on
Format: Audio CD
This is a fantastic single. Rise Up With Fists!! is worth the price of admission alone. Paradise, the b-side, is amazing as well. I can't believe it was left off the album, it's easily as or perhaps more worthy than any other song that actually was on the album.

There's also a video for Rise Up With Fists!! included that's fantastic. It's an inspired send-up of Hee-Haw and aside from Lewis and her band, it features Jimmy Tamborello, frequent Rilo Kiley, Elected, and Jenny Lewis touring mate Morgan Nagler, as well as Sarah Silverman.

All in all, if you're a Jenny Lewis or Rilo Kiley fan, you're going to love this. Any one of the the three tracks (including the video) are worth the purchase price, and when they're combined you're getting the best deal that you have in a long time.
