Product Description

In her first adventure, Lara Croft was forged into a true survivor, but she glimpsed a deeper, secret world. In the next chapter of her journey, Lara must use her survival skills and wits, learn to trust new friends, and ultimately accept her destiny as the Tomb Raider. Rise of the Tomb Raider builds upon the formula that made Tomb Raider a success, and features the return of Camilla Luddington as Lara Croft. Luddington will take character performance to new heights as Lara pushes herself beyond human limits and is confronted with what it means to become a hero. Once again, Crystal Dynamics is proud to have the award-winning author Rhianna Pratchett as a key member of the writing team, helping craft a story that delves into Lara's inner turmoil and motivations in this critical second act of her journey.

Wow! What can I say about the new Tomb Raider game created by the brilliant team Crystal Dynamics, Square Enix and Nixxes? other than they made the best ever Tomb Raider game of series since 1996!! The graphics are out of this world! Unbelievable!! You can see every strand of Lara's hair, made her face more realistic, made breathtakingly beautiful climates of Syria and Siberia almost real! You can see actual snow flakes in Lara's hair!! Sometimes you forget you're playing a game rather than a movie! It's that brilliant. The combat is tough but not so frustrating than the last game back 2013. Maybe Crystal Dynamics got lots of complaints and decided to make the combat easier for the players. I love the stealth mode and how when you get hit you're able to heal yourself up quickly. Tbh, I was tempted to buy a Xbox One to play this game but judging from the Xbox 360 graphics and xbox one, there really isn't much different in the graphics. The Nixxes team, the company who brought out the 2013 rebooted tomb raider game to PS4 did a bloody brilliant job to making the graphics top notch for the old gen console of Xbox.

Was Rise of the Tomb Raider worth 31.00 pounds? Most DEFINITELY!! Any True Tomb Raider fans will NOT want to miss out on this brilliant game!! There's challenging tombs, savage wolves, bears, and leopards to fight as well as the evil organisation called Trinity that Lara has to fight along with her new friends - Jacob, his daughter, Sofia, and their ppl. Rise of the Tomb Raider is worth every penny - the best tomb raider game ever!! It's the game of the year!!

Let't start by saying I am not a hardcore gamer, hence owning a 360 rather than a newer generation. Tomb raider was the first game I played, and finished and I absoloutley adored all aspects of the game, although I felt there were too many enemies. That game was a 5* game. This one is even better. I am about 50% of the game in and I can't believe it is even better than the last one. The graphics are better, the map is larger the scenery is stunning.

The game-makers kind of expect you to know some of the controllers and they are pretty much exactly the same as last time but lara can now climb treets, grabble hook from heights and swim.

There are loads of upgrades and instead of 'points' to collect them you've got to ort of collect all the components to buy them. I prefer the points system .

You can also collect things to make poison arrows and, earlier on in the game, build fires.
There are extra people to talk to in the game to get rewards.

People looking for an action packed game will be dissapointed I think but I like the adventure first, shooter second layout of the game.

Only downside to the game is the excessive swearing at the beginning, a lot of Sh** thrown about that makes it unsuitable for kids.

Fab, worth the £35 I paid!

THIS REVIEW CONTAINS SPOILERS

This game is great, and as a Tomb Raider fan I was ecstatic at receiving this game to play. It is fantastic, but not quite worthy of the 5 stars in my opinion, just because of the huge amount of similarity to the previous game in terms of story and enemies. *Spoiler* I particularly found the bit with the undead army ridiculously identical (in appearance and gameplay fighting) to the undead samurai in Tomb Raider (Reboot).
I also miss the compulsory tomb-ness which was hinted at during the beginning sequence when discovering the tomb in Syria. However, the new features such as crafting with specific items, learning languages and healing mid-battle are brilliant. I do miss the puzzle solving in the reboot series so far and I miss Croft Manor, and I was disappointed at the lack of ICONIC dual pistols which were used at the end of the previous game, but the beauty of this game somewhat overshadows these personal flaws, as does the brilliant narrative. Camilla Luddington's voice is still a bit too American sounding for my liking, but I do prefer her 'younger' sound to my previous favourite Croft, Keeley Hawes. Others may disagree!

No matter what you think of the game, it is worth buying and it is worth playing and completing, and then replaying to fully appreciate the story and gameplay. Even with its flaws, Rise of the Tomb Raider is a beautiful and brilliant game, particularly on the Xbox One system (although I don't think you lose too much if you play on 360). Fingers crossed for a third!

Yeah, it is! I was gutted when this first came out with no xbox 360 release. Having enjoyed the first in this series so much I was pretty devastated.
But here it is, even better, can't imagine how the xbox one could make this look any better. It's that good. Rise of the Tomb Raider is awesome! Buy it!

When I heard this game was an XBox One exclusive for a year I was gutted as I was thinking of going from 360 to PS4 soon. Then I heard it's also a 360 game, great. Then I saw it in Sainsbury's not expecting it to be out yet, brilliant! It's like a tradition, it's November, is there a Tomb Raider game out, get it then. What a long way we've come. The first Tomb raider was 1996,nearly twenty years ago. Then Lara was as great a character as ever in a great game but presented as an adolescent fantasy rendered in 96 era pointy graphics, and for a long time after. The current Lara is so much better, a wonderfully realised character to challenge Nathan Drake or indeed Indiana Jones on their own terms. The game looks great, I wonder how the Xbox one version can look much better really. I haven't played it much so far but it has that wonderful feel of exploring, of wandering through caverns to discover the long lost remains of ancient peoples and lots of jumping of course. The music, sound, story and voice acting are great too The action is nicely done so far and everything feels good. The last game I found way to action oriented, too many things blowing up and shooting, not enough exploring, and no replay value. I hope this one has taken a different path.
