Product Description

Product Description

The graphic novel meets the salacious rock and roll celebrity tell-all.

Gorillaz-bass-player mastermind Murdoc Niccals, hip hop hardman drummer Russel Hobbs, Japanese girl-guitarist Noodle and spiky blue-haired singer 2D-have lived the rock & roll life that other stars can only dream of-rife with demonic possessions, underworld dealings, amnesia, prison terms, and jaw-dropping stupidity.

Conceived by musician Damon Albarn and comic book creator Jamie Hewlett, Gorillaz have reconfigured the musical landscape, uniquely encapsulating the creative spirit of the digital age. In Gorillaz: Rise of the Ogre the Gorillaz put mouth to paper, revealing the complete story of this groundbreaking band from inception to fame-and all the depraved misadventures along the way.

About the Author

Gorillaz is, according to the Guiness Book of World Records, the "World's Most Successful Virtual Band." The members are Murdoc, 2D, Noodle, and Russel Hobbs. The band is the brainchild of Damon Albarn of the band Blur and comic book creator James Hewlett.

Hats off to Jamie Hewlett anyway, but this book is fantastic. Visually stunning and you can tell so much thought has gone into the design - extra little touches, like the gold foiling under the dust jacket, make it worth every penny for anyone who likes the Gorillaz, Jamie Hewlett or top notch design work.

gorillaz book 10 Nov 2006
Format:Hardcover
This is a fantastic and beautiful piece of work. The author, Cass Browne, is not acknowledged in the synopsis but he managed to write the whole thing in only three months. The illustrations are amazing and Cass' story is so well written. You will love this book!

Nice Book 3 April 2007
Format:Hardcover
Brilliant history (fictional) of the band Gorillaz, for the really avid fans, packed full of gorgeous illustrations of the band by Jamie Hewlett.

It has the back stories of all the members and how they came together, and glimpses of the possible future of the band...

With track by track analyses of their two albums, all of their performances, and even a section on why '23' pops up so much, this is a must have book for all REAL Gorillaz fans.
