Product Description

In the stunning conclusion to Anna Carey's epic tale of romance and sacrifice, Eve must choose who to leave behind, who to save, and who to fight in her final stand against the New America.

When Eve lost her soul mate, Caleb, she felt like her world ended. Now, trapped in the palace, as a reluctant bride and unhappy princess, Eve's entire life is a lie.

The only thing that keeps her going is Caleb's memory—and the revolution he started. Eve plots to destroy the New America, beginning with the capital, the City of Sand. Will she be able to bring about a new, free world when she's called upon to perform the ultimate act of rebellion—killing her father, the King?

4.0 out of 5 stars A pleasing end to the trilogy 10 April 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
As explained in my 'Once' review, I wasn't counting down the days to read this book. However, I'm now really pleased that I've read it!

If you enjoyed book 2, you will enjoy this one because there are quite a few similarities. We learn a bit more about Clara (she is quite a likeable character by the end)and even Charles seemed to grow on me towards the climax of the novel. A lot of the plot it still set in the City of Sands and Eve's character is stronger than ever (thankfully she is no longer so helpless like in book 1!)

Why you should read this book:
> You've read the other two and want to know what happens to the New America
> You enjoy Anna Carey's creative writing style
> You want to find out more about characters introduced in book 2
> You enjoyed reading about Eve 'on the run' in book 1
> You want to know what happened to Arden (and Pip and Ruby)
> You liked Benny and Silas from book 1 (I missed them in the second book!)
> You would happily be thrown back into this dystopian world
> You like action and don't mind reading about death!
> You want a quick-paced novel (I read it over a few hours)
> You like a good twist (Yes, Carey gives us another surprise ending!)

Don't expect:
> Caleb to suddenly reappear and feature all the way through (as I was hoping!)
> Romance
> A 'happy' Eve
> To read lots about Arden; she hardly features
> Eve to suddenly fall for Charles (I'm glad there wasn't a 'typical' love triangle actually)
> To have all your questions answered by the end of the book - lots of it is left for you to imagine

This is a gripping book and a real page turner. If you felt this way about book 1 or 2, then definitely consider reading this one :)

First two books were really good. This last book was a big let down. What Eve does is really out of character and she gets so boring. You actually start to like the King and Charles, but the book doesn't develop these. The last chapter was terrible, and its given me a bad impression of the series. I thought the concept of the first book was really interesting, but they seemed to give up on this one. If you have read the first two books then you will probably end up reading this one despite the bad reviews, (as I did), but you will regret it.

I wish they would re-write the ending or even the book, its needed.

Definitely not the standard of Harry Potter, Hunger Games, Divergent, Delirium, the Selection, Onyx. (Books I would recommend). This book series isn't worth reading as the last book is such a let down.

2.0 out of 5 stars Ummmm...... 22 Jun 2014

I fell in love with Eve and Once last year, so I've been eagerly awaiting the release of Rise, excited because I couldn't wait to see what came out of the final book. And now after reading it, I'm majorly disappointed!

At the end of Once, something major happens in the plot that leads to a character not being present in the final book. This isn't the first time this has happened in a series like this, but what's not the same, is not seeing that character again, even though he's there. I feel really cheated! Eve and Once both had something for us to root for i.e the romance, and come Rise, it doesn't even exist! The spark that was once there is gone and yes, that can come down to just one character - I kind of feel betrayed by the author and again, I feel very cheated. In what once was one of my favourite series, I can not longer say this. Eve and Once will always hold a special place in my heart, but Rise was just a huge disappointment and I honestly believe the author should re-write the ending. It's abrupt and very unfinished, we miss out on key emotions and what I believe would have been the best part of the book. Instead we get so many unanswered questions and left unsatisfied. It was like the last few chapters were missing out of the book, and I honestly can't see any devoted reader being happy with that ending. As you can see, I'm not!

The big question now though is, would I recommend this series to anyone else? Based on Eve and Once I would, but based on Rise, no I wouldn't! I can't knock Carey's exciting plot but I think it was a huge risk for her to end the series how she did, one that you're either going to love or hate, but for me, I hated it and I certainly won't be reading it again.

I must agree with other reviews. This was a very boring and bad ending. I will not repeat what they have already shared in their reviews only confirm that this third book is a complete let down.

I really enjoyed this series and thought this one was really good but the ending totally ruined it for me. Don't want to give any spoilers but I just feel it deserved more than the cheesy line it finished with.

This is a result amazing end to one of the best trilogy I have read. It's full of romance, action, adventure and much more. I couldn't put this book down literally I read it as I ate, walked around, everywhere I had it in my had. Personally I think that this book is suitable for all ages and will captivate any reader with the brilliant characters and events that take place. I love this book and it was written by a very talented writer. Well worth a read.

3.0 out of 5 stars Should have left it at book 1
The third in the eve trilogy, Eve is now married and struggling without Caleb. I found this better than book 2 but still not a patch on the original eve.
