2.0 out of 5 stars True to title 3 Jun 2004
By J. N. Valente VINE™ VOICE
Format:DVD
Alyson Hannigan is the only saving grace in this plotless film. It's supposed to deal with a Scheme, a Russian Job, but Alexis Denisof's accents bugs you beyond belief and Nastassja Kinski is under-used and below form.
One wonders how this excuse for a movie ever got made. Everything in it seems to be a deliberate insult to our intelligence. But Alyson shines, and the 2 stars are solely hers.

3.0 out of 5 stars Me Rambling as Usual 5 Oct 2009
By Cactus
Format:DVD
Rip Off (or Beyond the City Limits to give it its American title) has Alyson Hannigan in it. As the world's most beautiful woman (who also happens to share my birthday incidentally), this fact (and it is a fact) pretty well guarantees this film will offer an exceedingly high quality viewing experience. This is just as well, as it otherwise doesn't have a huge amount going for it. The plot has something to do with three friends ripping off their boyfriends and a casino. I got a bit confused watching it; I think I might have fallen asleep at one point, which is never helpful. Still, the most wonderful Ms Hannigan does get to play a character that's slightly different from Willow Rosenberg or Michelle Flaherty for a change. Watch if you want to be entertained but then afterwards immediately forget what you've just watched.
