Not the most accurate motors I have had but they work. One of the two I bought seems to loose steps in reverse but as I am only using it forwards, not a problem. The driver board is useful for project work. There is 64:1 reduction gearbox on these and there is a bit of slack in the gears but, you can remove the power and the motor will stay where it is even under load.

Found a number of tutorials explaining exactly how to wire this to the Raspberry Pi. Happy to find it did not need a separate power supply. Main worry was the example code runs too slowly and I could not decern the motor rotating, as soon as I lowered the delays had the motor running backwards and forwards in sets of 4100 steps(360 degrees) and the arm I added always ended up in the exact place it started. Very impressed for the low <£4 price.

Great piece of kit which was delivered in timely fashion and well packaged. Got it working with my Uno in no time with the standard sketch and look forward to trying some more fancy stuff as and when I learn some more C.

Well pleased with these motors. I know they're only cheap, but they're good enough for what I want them for. They worked first time when connected to the new Raspberry Pi B+. Could do with a bit more packaging to protect them in the post, and an information sheet and/or instructions would come in handy as well, but having said that, there's absolutely loads of info on the web describing how to connect these to RPi/PiFace/Gertboard etc. Delivery was pretty quick as well, considering they came from China !

At less than £4 including delivery this was the cheapest 28BYJ-48 stepper motor on Amazon when I bought it so I wasn't expected much. I had bought a couple of these before and was very happy with them so I thought I'd buy this third motor so I could make a delta robot. Surprisingly, this motor is even higher quality than the two I bought before it so I am very happy. Although I was out of practice I got it up and running with an Arduino Nano in minutes.

Excellent little stepper, very, very slight play in gears, but would not be a problem in use, unless absolute precision is required. Maybe its only on this one, as others I`ve bought don`t have it. Using for building flight simulator instruments, so reasonable accuracy is needed. Works great with Arduino`s. Recommended buy.

Nice little motors for the price.

I've yet to perfect the i2c routine I've designed to drive the motors, since the torque of both of them is a little poor presently.

I use mine from a Raspberry Pi B+.

Thanks,

M.

Bought 3 of these for a Raspberry Pi project. They took about 6 weeks to arrive, although the seller was responsive and helpful during that time (I guess if you want 3 for £5 then you're probably going to have to accept some compromise). All 3 worked, although the quality isn't great - one runs a little rough (I suspect it's related to it's internal gearbox), and one had it's LEDs hanging out (i.e. not soldered flush with the PCB). For the price they're great for a fun project, but not suitable for anything else.
