Format: Audio CD
Of the non Grime and Dubstep mixes on Rinse's label this is definitely my favourite. The two Funky contributions don't really cut the mustard (although Marcus Nasty's has some moments of listening pleasure). If you're a fan of the liquid bleep hop of Flying Lotus, Rustie, Harmonic 313 and that ilk, then this is definitely worth a listen. Stand-out cuts include: 1000 Names' Melon Ball Bounce that samples and celebrates electronic music innovator Raymond Scott; Morgan Spacek's remix of Jay Dilla collaborator's Frank-n-Dank; Digital Soundboy remix of Night, which is way more refreshing to hear that the original nowadays and with out a doubt my favourite track of recent years Joker's Digidesign - the sexiest, soulful and sad electronic outing since Bjork's All is Full of Love.
The mixing is nothing to write home about, but the solid selection more than makes up for this.
