This album is a collection of earlier Minotaur shock EP's, released on Melodic. The Ep's were Bagatelle, Motoring Britain & Rockpoolin'. However having said that, "Rinse" still flows as an album & in my opinion is a step up from his debut release "Chiff Chaffs & Willow Warblers". Bristol's David Edwards AKA Minotaur shock, once again proves himself as an electronica genius. The chimes, clicks, buzzes & other assortments of weird & wonderful sounds will take you away to a strange, pleasant dreamy land! Every sound is tweaked to perfection & the album makes many unexpected twists & turns & is rounded off with the beautiful "Lady came from Baltic Wharf", where vocals are present for the 1st time. The lovely singing voice of Louise Davies gives the perfect vibe to finish off this enchanting album.
David Edwards creates an electronic sound which amalgamates the trippy sounds produced by the likes of Four tet, Manitoba & Bonobo. I would highly recommend this album to fans of the for-mentioned artists & of laid back electonica such as Boards of Canada.
