2.0 out of 5 stars Unpractical for work 3 April 2013
By Steven
Colour Name:Silver|Verified Purchase
Working in a pub, i would assume using these would suffice in opening bottles quickly however, it is quite difficult to use these during busy hours due to its awkwardly design. but if your using it at home. these would do.

5.0 out of 5 stars It's a bottle opener... 7 Sep 2012
Colour Name:Silver|Verified Purchase
Pretty much all you'll need to open a bottle and it's very, very cheap and very, very small. What's not to like?

A very handy bottle opener for the pocket. Stainless steel and could easily be affixed to a key ring. I carry mine around with me.

3.0 out of 5 stars Cheap & cheerful 24 Dec 2012
Colour Name:Silver|Verified Purchase
It does what it's supposed to do (i.e remove caps from bottles) but perhaps not as easily as a more expensive or better made bottle opener would - the "teeth" which fit under the bottle cap are a bit short & rounded / blunt on the one I received, and the angle created when the opener is in place doesn't seem quite right for opening bottles first time every time - it has slipped out of the bottle cap a few times.

Unlike some other reviewers though, I have no complaints about the size, and I don't think it looks cheap or tacky - it's shiny and strong enough not to bend when you use it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Sore gums no more 13 Oct 2011
By zamongo
Colour Name:Silver
Up until recently I have been using my teeth to open bottles, as I assume is what most people do. Let me tell you my gums and teeth did not like that one bit. In one of my numerous visits to the emergency room with yet another case of split lips I was informed of this wonderful new invention which can be used to open bottles without having to use one's teeth at all. You just place the device in the appropriate manner on top of the bottle, you pull in the appropriate direction and the lid comes off! Absolutely amazing. And wouldn't you know it, this wonderful new device is already available on amazon.

My only complaint is that it didn't come with an instructions manual and after many frustrated attempts I had to seek the help of a technically sophisticated neighbour to learn how to use it. But once I got the hang of it I wouldn't go back to the old method for all the money in the world. I bet when I go for my next check up, my dentist won't believe the wonderful state my gums and teeth are in now.

So go ahead, buy this and your mouth will be eternally grateful.

P.S. Do not use this with bottles which have a twisty lid, it won't work, use your fingers instead. They should probably add a warning to that effect.

1.0 out of 5 stars Could've bought a cheeseburger 5 April 2014
Colour Name:Silver|Verified Purchase
Worst purchase ever. Simply didn't grip bottle tops. Oh well, only 99p. But that 99p could've been used to buy a tasty cheeseburger.

1.0 out of 5 stars Don't buy 26 Mar 2014
By Mrs KPS

Impressed with delivery and packaging of the product however it doesn't work. I the only reason I haven't returned it is because it wouldn't be viable as it only cost 99p!!

1.0 out of 5 stars Shambolic 10 Mar 2014
Colour Name:Silver|Verified Purchase
I have only one fairly undemanding criterion for a bottle opener: namely that it opens bottles. This one doesn't.

I bought 4 for a party and not one of them opens bottles, so, given it's not worth my time arguing for 4 x 99p refunds, I just binned them.

The question is, how can anyone in the bottle opener manufacturing business fail to notice this not-insignificant flaw in their product? Did it not strike anyone in the company at any point in their history to get a bottle and do a test? Or maybe they did test them and thought "nah, doesn't matter, we'll get a quid off gullible punters anyway and no-one will bother to kick off"?

This product is not fit for purpose. To call it a bottle opener is in contravention of the Trade Descriptions Act. Amazon, I recommend you withdraw this item from sale.

Does what it is supposed to, can't mark it down for anything, just simple. opens bottles. and very cheap. Seems easier to open bottles than some other bottle openers.

1.0 out of 5 stars Very low quality!
Gave up using this since it just doesn't open the bottles and you risk hurting your hand because it slips when you try to open the bottle. Read more

3.0 out of 5 stars Bottle opener
Cheap product and with effort, it can be used to open bottles. But, the shape of the opener is not ideal. It does not latch under the lid very well. You have to struggle with it. Read more

4.0 out of 5 stars Works Fine
It opens bottles with minimal fuss. I find it a little uncomfortable on my hands but it's only used for seconds at a time and is worth the price to me.
