This six-disc box set contains the three theatrical-release versions of The Lord of the Rings trilogy--that is, the films as they were originally seen in cinemas. The individual titles are all also available as separate two-disc sets: The Fellowship of the Ring, The Two Towers and The Return of the King.

Product Description

Includes:

  • The Fellowship Of The Ring
  • The Two Towers
  • The Return Of The King

Blu-ray was made for a journey like this...

Finally, for the first time, all three original theatrical versions of The Lord Of The Rings come alive in high definition Blu-ray! See the epic trilogy the way it was meant to be seen with the complete box set containing The Fellowship Of The Ring, The Two Towers, and The Return Of The King!

The Lord of the Rings Trilogy tells the story of Frodo Baggins (Elijah Wood), a hobbit who battles against the Dark Lord Sauron to save his world, Middle-earth, from the grip of evil. In the films, Frodo and his fellowship of friends and allies embark on a desperate journey to rid Middle-earth of the source of Sauron's greatest strength, the One Ring -- a ring that has the power to enslave the inhabitants of Middle-earth. The trilogy tells tales of extraordinary adventures across the treacherous landscape of Middle-earth and reveals how the power of friendship, love and courage can hold the forces of darkness at bay. Beside Wood, the films star Ian McKellen, Liv Tyler, Viggo Mortensen, Sean Astin, Cate Blanchett, John Rhys-Davies, Billy Boyd, Dominic Monaghan, Orlando Bloom, Christopher Lee, Hugo Weaving, featuring Sean Bean, and Ian Holm, with Andy Serkis as Gollum. The films also star Marton Csokas, Craig Parker and Lawrence Makaoare.

The Lord Of The Rings - The Fellowship Of The Ring: In a time before history, in a place called Middle-earth, a dark and powerful lord has brought together the forces of evil to destroy its cultures and enslave all life caught in his path. Sauron's time has come and he needs only one small object - a Ring t

These movies are great even in the theatrical cut, and the blu ray transfer really does them justice!
Who really cares if the theatrical versions were released first, you pay your money and you make your choice!
I love the extended versions as they really are so much closer to the original vision and story of middle earth, however, some people prefer the theatrical versions, I quite like the theatrical versions as sometimes I cant be bothered to devote 4 hours to watching the extended movie, and for £13.99 this boxset is a bargain!
Although its always fun to hear and read the fanboys complaining they had to wait for "their" extended version, seriously guys get a grip and stop complaining these films even in the theatrical cut are still amazing! I especially like the review which says that blu ray isnt mainstream and therefore shouldnt cater for mainstream tastes, some people amaze me!
This boxset is what it is, three great movies at a bargain price, if you dont like it then dont buy it!

I have no idea why fans are boycotting this review. The product is amazing for the price. These are the movies I saw in the cinema and the ones I want to watch again, I don't have to change the disc halfway through the movie either.

Top notch, don't listen to the LOTR obsessive fans.

I've seen both the Extended Edition and the Theatrical Edition and, in my opinion, this is the better version. There's nothing wrong with the Extended LotR, it clarifies many details which weren't made clear in the original, but each movie runs well over 3 hours which is more time than most people are willing to sit still for and you have to switch disks halfway through.
I feel this is Lord of the Rings in it's most concise form and on that basis I would recommend it. It's also a bargain for the price.
