The Ring Power Source 300 Inverter is a 12v 300w single socket Power Source Inverter that is simple and safe to use on equipment rated up to 300w such as laptop computers, camcorders, stereos, small fridges, small power tools and many other applications.
It will power 220-240v AC mains equipment directly from a 12v source.
Just plug the inverter into the vehicle’s cigarette lighter or connect directly to a 12v battery to convert the voltage to mains AC power.
All Ring 12v inverters include the following key safety features: two-way fuse protection, low battery shutdown protection, low battery voltage alarm, over voltage protection, overload protection and temperature protection.

We used this to power a laptop whilst driving to France (and back) and also to charge phones and i-Pods. Really pleased with the way that it worked. It worked very well.

I bought this inverter to charge up camcorder batteries in the car using the mains charger. It does this very well and means that I can shoot out of doors for as long as I want.
I have also used it to power a small light to even up the illumination when filming people inside cars - this works, but unfortunately the inverter has a fan which makes too much noise for use when recording sound. The fan only comes on when powering high power items.
However this appears to be a quality item with a metal case that does what it says on the tin.

I ordered this to use on a yacht in Greece that had only cigar lighter sockets, there were no three-pin or even two-pin sockets on the boat. This adaptor worked well and I was able to charge our iPhones on it and used it plug in a mosquito repeller machine at night. My iPod worked on it too. I haven't tried using it for anything else. I was told I couldn't use it for a travel hairdryer or hair straighteners or anything that gives off heat, so didn't try using those in order to avoid overloading it and potentially ruining something. Overall it worked well for the other appliances and wasn't noisy while in operation, so I'm pleased with it so far.
