Book Description

1 Feb 2002
One of romance’s best-loved authors, Sandra Brown creates love stories whose “larger-than-life heroes and heroines make you believe all the warm, wonderful, wild things in life” (Rendezvous). Now the New York Times bestselling author delivers a poignant, funny, and irresistibly sensual novel about one night in the life of a man and a woman that will change their future forever.

Television producer Brin Cassidy was throwing the biggest dinner party of her life. And with everything in utter chaos, who should show up unannounced on her doorstep but her handsome estranged husband, Jon Riley.

Brin had not only worked with the popular star of Riley in the Morning, she had fallen in love with and married him. She knew she owed Riley an explanation for why she walked out. But did he have to come on this of all nights?

Temperamental, charismatic, and devastatingly blue-eyed, Riley was a man who knew what he wanted, and he wasn’t leaving until he got it. But the sensuous and strong-willed beauty he still called his wife was every bit his match.

From dusk until dawn the two will experience a second honeymoon of passion, seduction, and deep revelation that will determine if there is any future for Riley in the morning.

4.0 out of 5 stars Another good story by Sandra brown 31 July 2001
By A Customer
Format:Hardcover
An easy book to read. It had the usual touch of passion. The character Riley was forceful and determined. His estranged wife appeared to be, unless Riley was involved when she seemed to always back down to him. I felt her reasons for being estranged from him not very believable and that is whatI feel let the storyline down. Having said that it is a book in the true tradition of Sandra brown. A must for any of her devotees!

1.0 out of 5 stars Riley In The Morning 2 Mar 2008
By Kelly - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Mass Market Paperback
I usually enjoy SB, even her older books, but this one was over the top. The main characters were not very likeable. The story was ridiculous. Brin leaves her husband Riley. She doesn't tell him why, and he loves her so much that he lets months go by before asking why. I just can't buy it, and couldn't invest myself in it.

2.0 out of 5 stars Poor plot 25 Jan 2001
By A Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover
If you're a diehard Sandra Brown fan, then wait for the paperback, because there's no way this book merits hardcover status. The plot is beyond poor. Brin's reason for leaving Riley is one of the dumbest I've read. Consider Riley a saint for putting up with this ridiculous and annoying woman. I expected better from Ms. Brown, as this book seemed rushed.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not Riley in the Morning, Riley all the time 21 Jan 2001
By Susie Rigsby - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover
This story started out with Riley and it was Riley all the way through. We went from his sudden appearance at the birthday party she was giving for a big shot (and after being separated for seven months) to his attempted reconciliation, all the way through the book. Her flash backs of how they met and married were cute. The story was almost typical Brown. First they were lovers, then married, then separated for along time and back together again for a happy ending. It's hard to imagine Riley calling someone Dim Whit and they would adore him. I thought the story had zero plot and not one character really grabs you. Maybe because there aren't many characters except Riley and Brin. This one was published in 1985 and is a reprint. It isn't new writing by Brown. Brown can write nice descriptive love scenes, but the overall story lacks suspense. It doesn't keep you enthused about turning the page because there was no doubt about what would happen at the end. I read the story in one evening. This is my third or fourth book by this author and I'm still not excited.
