Bought one of these to use with my Raspberry Pi -worked straight out of the box when running the Debian Linux distribution.

Other than that - decent sized keys and as I will be using it in a media centre enviornment, it is the perfect size (and does not take over the living room). Could be useful for presentations too.

Speccy users might appreciate the rubber keys!

I bought the product for my pc streaming on the TV. I really liked its design and its functionalities.
Unfortunately I followed the instructions but it was not working. It was sending strange characters to my pc even when disabled. I had to remove the usb receiver to stop it. I also tried to fully charge the battery with no success.
I tested on XP pro, Vista 32 and Windows 7 in different rooms thinking the problem was related to interferences. I also tried different frequencies.
I contacted the manufacturer through its web site explaining the issue and asking for help but I have never received any answer. I found few post on the web complaining about the customer support of the manufacturer and flow in the design of some of their products.
After the week-end I asked for a refund and now I am waiting to get my money back. Surely I got a defective item or I just needed few hints to fix the issue but the manufacturer's support has not been there.

I bought this mini keyboard for my HTPC as a wired keyboard & mouse combo was not only restrictive but also unsightly.

My main issue is that the keyboard is in US layout, so you need to change your keyboard layout in Windows and accept the fact that you loose the pound symbol.

Minor gripes are that I've had to reset the RF frequency a couple of times, it would nice to just to have to do this once but I have a couple of wireless items in the house which may be the cause and I don't know what my neighbour has. The variable DPI of the mouse is just a gimic - there are 2 settings, usefull or useless. The scroll wheel function is also pretty ropey, lacking any real control, and I seriously would have doubts about using the unit as a game controller. The user guide is very basic and could really do with some more detailed information on how to get the best of the devices functionality, there is no support on the manufacturers website, in fact this model isn't even listed.

So why the 4 stars?

Build quality seems excellent, the mouse and keyboard aspects both function well, and its suprisingly usable as a keyboard given it's size (I'm writing this using it). The built in function keys are really usefull allowing full control of media player, and the backlight is great if you've got the lights out. The unit does exactly what I need it to do (apart from the pound symbol - but how often do you need that?) and is totally inconspicuous when not in use. I don't have anything to compare this mini keyboard with but in all honisty it's quite impressive even with it's faults, I'm pretty pleased with my purchase all things considered.

This works very well with Windows 7 and also with the Raspberry Pi running both Debian Linux and the XMBC media centre. It is perfect for browsing the internet etc. Just don't expect to be able to tackle long documents. It powers down quite quickly in order to save battery and this can be slightly annoying even though pressing a key revives it. Another slight annoyance is that there is only one shift key and this can be awkward if the key to be shifted is on the same side as both have to be operated with the same hand. By the way mine has a UK keyboard layout. I think one of the earlier reviews states that theirs was not. All in all a great device - I love it.

Nice little device. Works well so far with my Raspberry Pi.

The only problem I have is I can't find an 'Up' arrow, so no history. I have to retype everything.

Still, it was located and identified immediately by the Pi.

Incidentally, the Pi is setup for UK keyboard - this gives a £ for the Shift-3, whilst the # is on AltGr-3.

Hope that helps the reviewer who was missing a £ sign.

At first, this little keyboard was working fine. It did its work admirably, taking into account its pros and cons, see below:

PROS:
Comfy rubber keys.
Reliable touch pad.
Rechargeable Li-Ion battery.
Compartment for receptor next to the battery.

CONS:
Occasional buffer problem sends a string of repeated characters to the computer. It does not seem a problem with the key being stuck, but a transmission problem.
Short range if placed in a USB port behind the computer (2-3 m).

But then (after 3 months of daily use), one day you switch the device on and you are greeted by a constantly blinking orange light (the same one that blinks lightly when transmitting). Searching the Internet for the issue I found this link:
[...]

According to this (and I somehow think the author is completely right) some hardware piece is fried and your little keyboard is no more than electronic waste.

This was intended as a keyboard for a media centre PC in my bedroom. I wanted it to be small but easy to use, but didn't want to compromise on capabilities so needed a built in trackpad.

It's so tiny, and so cute, but I can't think of a single way I'd improve it. The keys are rubberised, with gaps between them, that make them easy to find. The trackpad in the centre is easy to use with a thumb when holding it in both hands. It has nearly no weight at all so is pleasant and not at all tiring to use. There is a backlight, which is fabulous for my usages where I might want to watch a film in the dark in bed. I've had no problems with any radio interference, and live in a flat with lots of close neighbours

Overall I am so happy I am planning to buy another one for my lounge, it's really _that_ good.

No views on battery life yet, that's the only point that could kill this product for me. Time will tell.
