Sunday Mirror

'This novel scoots along at great pace with some genuinely funny lines and a touching ending' Sunday Mirror

Product Description

Every second counts for private investigator Leo Street on her latest case. She must find a missing teenager in the drug-fuelled streets of Dublin before it's too late. But with a watch that's stopped and a biological clock that's taken over, it's not going to be easy. Leo's irrepressible sidekick Ciara, her mischievous mutt No. 4, and Ciara's gorgeous twin brother Ronan, lend a helping hand. But can they track down the missing girl and save the day, or will a case of bad timing put all their lives at risk?

More Please! 24 April 2005

Format:Paperback
I've read all three of the Leo Street books - and I certainly hope three is not the total set! I believe they have each improved - the first book was great on character, but weak on mystery. The detective stories have progressively improved and the character complexity has as well. I think the subplot of Loe's pregnancy adds to the tale, Leo just wants some order and happiness in her life, but never seems to hit the mark. Yet she's not the morose and dark detective of old, she's a very modern character. Overall, a lovely book! My main concern - McLynn's next book (while well-received) is not about Leo. More Leo and co. please!

This book was gritty, funny, witty and sad , all at the same time. The plots twists are brilliant, and it's down to earth manner is enthralling! You can really get a feel for the main character, and everything that happens to her.
The end was a little bit weak, though, in an anti-climax kinda way, but as this book was part of a series, I know I cant wait for the next one to see how things work out!!
Certainly one of the best books I've read recently.

think an irish version of val mcdermid's kate brannigan and thats who leo street is. she always seems to end up in the wrong place at the wrong time, tricky love life and an irish meddlesome mother. funny fast paced and i couldnt put it down once i got into it. great detail to the realism of the situation that is involved in the book.
