Developed for the Xbox 360, Ridge Racer 6 takes advantage of the system's power to deliver the most intense and immersive drift racing experience yet, with an unprecedented sense of speed, slick graphics and more than 130 cars that let players enjoy every hairpin drift and high-speed straightaway like never before. Players can compete in the game's World Xplorer mode, entering races to unlock new cars, prizes, and brand new routes. By performing successful high-speed drifts, players will fill up their Nitrous Gauge to unleash a powerful burst of speed to pass opponents and secure victory. Ridge Racer 6 evolves the nitrous system even further, allowing players to build up their Nitrous Gauge for even more explosive double and triple boosts of speed resulting in more exhilaration and enjoyment in negotiating courses.
For the first time in the history of the series, Ridge Racer 6 lets players drift online against up to 14 gearheads from around the world on Xbox Live. Players can choose to compete in a number of different online modes including Online Battle Mode or view live online races from the sidelines in Spectator Mode. For ultimate bragging rights, the best times for individual courses achieved in Global Time Attack Mode can be uploaded to Xbox Live, where ghost car data can also be downloaded to provide world class challenges for Ridge Racer fans.

Ignore comparions with PGR for handling, not the same game. Where this game does excel is in longevity. Gamercard scores are hard to come by, lots of unlockable features, and the Explorer goes on for a very long time and indeed is very difficult, alot tricker than PGR in my opinion, I've done PGR on everything, having trouble even doing a single race in Expert mode! This game will last months and months if you want to complete it properly and then there's the online function, excellent racing etc. A very under rated game in my opinion.

Too many comparrisons are made with games that are of a similar nature to each other and ridge racer 6 has fallen into this category, being compared to a very accomplished realistic racer of which the ridge racer series has never professed to be.The game is and always has been a quick fix arcade racer and as such Ridge racer 6 does a very good job.Graphics are nice and do the job needed perhaps not next gen but still very nice with car models looking sharp and reflections and lighting effects complementing the attractive scenery.Speed wise at the moment(i've completed 12 races at the time of writing this)has been nothing mind blowing but hopefully this is a deliberate act to show off later unlocks of faster cars although that said the in car view appears faster to the eye than the outside viewpoint.The race world is made up of a number of areas surrounded by hexagonal pieces each with a number which can be completed one at a time or strung together to form larger events eventually surrounding the area within them unlocking a new car for each area surrounded.I bought this game with a certain amount of dread after reading some reviews but can honestly say have been pleasently surprised getting an easy to jump into arcade racer and if like me you want a break from other sometimes hard work racing simulations then you could do a lot worse than this,it won't win any major competions but will provide you with a few hours of light hearted arcade racing.

This game is awesome! I got it delivered first thing yesterday morning and i haven`t stopped playing it since. there is over 130 cars in total in the game, the graphics are stunning and the gameplay is great. If you like ur traditional arcade style racing games then this is a definite must buy. The cars in the game handle superbly. If you`ve played the other ridge racer games on any formats then you`ll know how easy it is to just pick and play this game! unlike pgr3.
They are sort of similar games but for me ridge racer 6 just edges pgr3 as its put everything you need in the one game. 111 levels, great soundtracks, great dj, the cars and the drifting all make this a superb game and (in my opinon) better than pgr3

Ridge Racer, Not much has changed, hard achievemets, alot of them, tacky but cos its old game it will be all that, only for hardcore Ridge Racer Fans id say.

Addicted to this game since 2007. Got rid of original Xbox 360 and decided to get another so this game was a must to my collection loving it.
