This is an admirable guide to Richmond Park, with the author going into considerable, and interesting, details on the Park's long history, but I do wonder about its suitability for general walkers - particularly families.
Unless one is an experienced walker, armed with a large scale Ordnance Survey map and compass (yes, it is very easy to get lost amongst the numerous trees!), the sketchiness of the walk descriptions and the basic sketch map of the Park are barely sufficient; moreover the timings given for the walks are over-optimistic: unless you are willing to turn your walk into a route-march, not stopping at the very features the author is at pains to describe, you risk (especially during the Winter) finding yourself locked in the Park!
The book should, perhaps, best be seen as an adjunct to a good walking book / map of the Park, when much interest can then be derived from the information contained in it.
