Book Description

7 Oct 2010 Richard Scarry
Willy Bunny has learned to count and so will children, by the time theyve finished Richard Scarrys fun-filled book. When Willys father suggests that he practice counting all the things he sees, he begins with one bunny (himself) and soon finds more numbers everywhere: two eggs on his daddys plate, three wheels on a tricycle, a four-wheeled wagon with apples for Willy and his friends to share. By the end of the day, Willys gone all the way up to 100! Action-packed and featuring Scarrys always-appealing art, this really is the best counting book ever!

5.0 out of 5 stars Richard Scarry's Best Counting Book ever. 17 Sep 2011
Format:Hardcover
This original version was given to me on my 4th birthday back in the late seventies. A book I will always remember affectionately for teaching me to count to 100, in a very subtle interesting way. It gave me a great confidence & passion for mathematics/ numerically inclined subjects and that 4 year girl old later went on study engineering at university.

Hence, to be recommended to a child perhaps at about 2-3 even if he/she looks at the pictures of various characters from the mother cat frying bacon sausages and eggs for her little kittens and other animal characters as firemen and fire engines, policemen. When ready, counting will come naturally to the child possibly with a little help from a parent.

5.0 out of 5 stars He loved it 30 Mar 2012
Format:Hardcover|Amazon Verified Purchase
I bought this book without much expectation. With a bit of pushing it might help on the counting front, I thought.

Well, my 5-year-old loved it ("almost the best counting book ever, daddy"), asked to read it every night and two weeks later has counted up to 100 with just a little prompting along the way.

Your mileage will undoubtedly vary but I'm stunned.

5.0 out of 5 stars It IS the best!! 12 Mar 2012
Format:Hardcover|Amazon Verified Purchase
When my own children were small they received a Richard Scarry book as a gift. My first thought was that the illustrations were very sketchy and there was so much happening on each page that it would be confusing for a child. How wrong I was! Both my children LOVED this book and others by this author; they were 'read' to death over the years!
I am pleased to see that they are still available, I have several on my shopping list for my grandaughter who loves to count and thinks this book is THE BEST!!!(less)
