We tend to borrow books from the library but this one would never be returned. This is a super book on so many levels. You can pick it up, flick through the brightly illustrated pages and learn lots of cool facts. You can sit down in the kitchen and think, what experiment can I do right now and know that you'll have many of the basic ingredients to start straightaway. Or you can get a shopping list and pop down to your local grocery shop or hardware store. My daughter is 9 and can confidently follow the instructions. I'm... well quite a few years older, and I love joining in the fun. Supports the school curriculum for KS2 and is a great way to introduce kids to the three key sciences.
