This is an excellent book. If you are seeking an authentic relationship with God, one in which the whole range of emotions we have as human beings fits into, you'll find these words real and true to your experience.Howard Macy presents the Christian life at its best: God centered, but humanly real. By looking at the Psalms, the "prayer expression" of the bible, he explores seven of the movements we go through in our relationship with God: Longing, Waiting, Trembling, Despairing, Resting, Conversing, and Celebrating. I found it tremendously helpful and feel it's a modern "classic" in the vein of the devotional masters like Brother Lawrence and Thomas Kelly. Read it!
