This is the first of Ice-T's albums and indeed the least polished. However, this adds to it's charm, particularly for fans who wish to see how such a successful artist started out in the business. Less aggressive and political than much of his later work, many of the raps are great fun and perhaps not to be taken too seriously! (For example, Sex! featuring DJ Evel E). However, even in the early days Ice was trying to get his message across as demonstrated by tracks such as Pull the Trigger. Other than this there are some good, old-fashioned gangster raps that really let you know that this was an 80s album. Overall, highly recommended but fans of later work might be put off by the big difference in style and content; persevere, it is worth it!
