Very good for the first-time visitor (like me),

A really useful little guide - it's little, so you can take it out on those walks; it's really useful, because it has some very good (though rather short) walks in it, and the directions/route notes are very good indeed. It took us to some valleys we would never have discovered without this book, such as the valley 'behind' Lindos which is really beautiful. The Efta Piges walk was good, but sadly the tracks have become a bit more impinged-upon by walls and fences. The Stegna walk is great - so good we did it twice in a week!
We tried a few of the restaurants in the book as well and again agree with the authors. Only problem - the interesting-sounding walls-of-old-Rhodos are closed for refurbishment - do visit the website mentioned in the book for updates. Compliments to the chefs!

Excellent introduction to Rhodes,

As soon as we decide on our next holiday we check the Sunflower website to see if there is a book for our destination. We were disappointed this time to see only the smaller Walk and Eat version for Rhodes to add to our collection but need not have worried. As usual this book (and the updates on the website) is excellent and provides a good basis for a first visit combining city and country walks.
We stayed at the northern tip of the island last October and visited as far south as Lindos and west as Kritinia with ease. We did 6 of the 11 Rhodes walks and found the map of Rhodes old town very helpful in working out where we were amongst the maze of alleys. All the walks were memorable and differed in character. We return to Rhodes soon and intend to use the book again, checking the website beforehand for any up to date comments and advice. The option to update your old version for a newer edition at a discount is well worth exploring, especially if you are revisiting after a few years. The book fits neatly into a back pocket and doesn't fall to bits. It is true there is not the usual large map of the island with the walks marked but the locations of the walks are visible on the small map on page 123.

Some excellent restaurant recommendations and interesting walks,

We took the Walk & Eat book with us on our 2 week trip to Lindos in Rhodes early last September. We are occasional 30-something walkers and did some of the shorter/easier walks, but we found it a bit too hot to do any of the more strenuous ones. The instructions for the walks were fairly straightforward (not always the case in some walking books). We particularly enjoyed the Rhodes Old Town walk and the Petaloudes walk. The book contained some useful info on Lindos and we followed the Kleoboulos Tomb walk which gives a great view back at Lindos. Of the restaurants recommended in the book, the ones we tried were all very good. We tried all 3 Lindos recommendations and returned to all of them: one had the best food we ate in Lindos and one had the best view. Our favourite restaurant (Christos Corner) from the two weeks was also recommended in the book. Overall, the book was useful although we used it more for the restaurants than the walks.
