Just got home from watching this show live at Dartford theatre, it was absolutely hilarious from start to finish and I can't wait for the release of this DVD to re-live it all over again, if you loved the award winning mince pie show then this is a must buy for any fan of this comic genius

I thoroughly enjoyed his first DVD, 'The Award-Winning Mince Pie', and I can safely say that if you enjoyed it too, then you'll like this as well, but I must admit I didn't find it quite as good as the first one.
Rhod likes to have a bit of a story under his comedy, which worked really well in the first one. He's done the same here - in fact it's a kind of 'sequel' to the first one - but I think it's gone a bit too far. The rants and raves about 'trivial' things too, while still funny, are over the top.
Of course, the over-the-topness of his rants make sense at the end of this story, which I won't spoil (this is the first time I can say there are spoilers to a stand-up comedy DVD!), and it all links together very cleverly, but I didn't find myself laughing out loud as much I would have liked. In fact in some bits it gets quite dark and serious.
Basically, if you want a straightforward 'funny man' who tells jokes and has big laughs, this maybe isn't for you. But if you want to hear a VERY funny story from a larger-than-life character that will reward repeat views to see how it all links up, this is right up your street.

I was at the DVD recording for this show, and can guarantee that if only half of the set that Rhod performed makes it onto the DVD then it will be worth watching. For fans of his first DVD, this is a must buy, and I recommend it to any comedy lover anywhere. Despite having some bad press about being 'too cynical', which is a point I can understand, I still think this man is hilarious, and worth buying for oneself, or as a present to any comedy lover.

Hillarious
Hillarious DVD - this man was just made for comedy. Just wish he would bring out more DVD's and his autobiography as they are sure to provide much entertainment.

if you like Rhod Guilbert then you will like this, the good thing is it's different from his other video ( the mince pie)

A SUPERB WELSH EXPORT?!!
Rhod Gilbert is one very funny man. I laughed throughout this dvd, from start to finish. It was still funny the second time around.

Absolutely side-splitting hilarious
This DVD is fantastic, showing Rhod Gilbert at his best. His stand-up show has a interesting theme running throughout and as things unveil they become funnier and funnier. Read more

Not quite so Funny
Not quite so side splittingly funny as it's predecessor, The Award Winning Mince Pie, and with a lot more initial aggression, but it does get there in the end. Read more
