Product Description

George E. Ehrlich MD, JAMA

"The volume will become the most consulted by students, residents, fellows, and non rheumatologic physicians and will also, albeit surreptitiously, become a reference for the specialist..."

Product Description

The first edition of RHEUMATOLOGY, with its unique combination of authoritative, encyclopedic text and full-color illustration, set a new standard in medical publishing and received rave reviews from such prestigious journals as JAMA and The Lancet. Now completely revised and updated, it retains its clarity, consistent style of approach, user-friendliness, and outstanding design and organization that made it an "instant classic" in the field. This comprehensive text presents relevant basic science as well as clinical practice guidelines; high-quality, full-color illustrations throughout; top-flight editors and contributing authors; and up-to-date references.

5.0 out of 5 stars An original format for a great textbook, 8 Jan 2000
By Daniel X. Xibille - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Rheumatology (Hardcover)
Klippel's "Rheumatology" came as a surprise in its first edition. Now, the second edition probably reinforces its position as the number one textbook of Rheumatology on the market. Not only is it written in an easy, down-to-earth manner (without losing its scientifical objectivity), but it balances depth and focus on every single topic it approaches in a masterful way. To the medical student it provides the basics in a comprehensive approach, while providing all of the juicy tidbits of information, along with the clinical evidence that the resident and the practicing rhumatologist needs. It also constitutes an excellent source of practical illustrations, diagrams and clinical photography. The clinical cases of each section allow for a perfect correlation between the theory and the clinical, everyday challenges. All in all, a great book, the one to beat if there is to be a new, definite textbook in this field.

5.0 out of 5 stars Comprehensive text, 3 Sep 2003
By A Customer - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Rheumatology (Hardcover)
Well written, and easier to read than many specialized medical texts. Supplemented by nice 4 color graphics and color photos.

Caveat - the Amazon listing states that the 2nd edition was published in 2003. It actually came out in 2000!
