Product Description

It was in 1983 that Howard Jones released his first single 'New Song' in the UK. The single steadily climbed the UK chart to peak at No. 3. Then came the second single 'What Is Love?' which reached No. 2 in the UK and the third single the enigmatic 'Hide & Seek' which showed the spiritual side of Howard Jones' writing. This was followed by the first album 'Human's Lib' which came straight in at No. 1 in the UK in April 1984, eventually going platinum and which took the synthesiser and Howard to a new plateau. This success spread across the globe with 'Human's Lib' going gold in USA, Japan, Germany, Italy and Australia. The second album 'Dream Into Action' was even more successful spawning a series of hits including 'Like To Get To Know You Well', 'Look Mama', 'Things Can Only Get Better' and the classic 'No One Is To Blame' which reached No.1 in the U.S. singles chart. The album was co-written by dba's Robbie Bronnimann, there is great excitement about this new cutting edge collection of tracks. It will include Revolution of the Heart and Just Look at You Now. Remixes of both these tracks have already been released on vinyl in the UK. Revolution of the Heart reached No.17 in the UKs Club Chart and 7 in the UKs DMC chart in November 2003. Just Look at You Now reached 19 in the UKs Club Chart and No 14 in the DMC Chart.

5.0 out of 5 stars Drop all preconceptions this is not retro!!!!! 21 Sep 2005
Format:Audio CD
This album is full of seriously good melodies, thumping beats and inspiring lyrics. Don't be fooled-Howard Jones is not an 80's artist. This album is as contemporary as you can get. Howard uses cutting edge technology to create an album of melodic pop of the highest order. If you like great pop music with a unique lyrical feel then this is for you. Sing along, dance along and think along side this great album!

5.0 out of 5 stars howard stirs it up 15 Sep 2005
Format:Audio CD
Revoloution of the heart is a stonking album that shows the experience of a songwriter and musician at the top of his game. All 10 tracks show the utmost care as Jones and cohort Robin Bronniman sculpt electronic perfection. The superb guitar work of Robin Boult adds to the mix for an album that must be up with the best of the year. For me Howard is at his best on the title track, Another Chance and the superb Stir it up. If I had a request for the next cd it would be more of Shaz Sparks superb vocals. For old HJ fans I would urge them to buy this - its great !

5.0 out of 5 stars synchronise 6 billion lives to one beat 2 Sep 2005
Format:Audio CD
Howard Jones releases a brand new studio album on 10th October 2005 (UK DATE)titled 'Revolution of The Heart'. This will be his first new studio album since the highly acclaimed 'People' album released in 1998.
Regarded by many as one of the most influential of the artists that emerged from the UK in the eighties, Jones has particular credibility in the world of dance music where he is regarded as a synthesiser and programming pioneer. In recent years remixers have been clambering to re-mix his work which has resulted in several tracks such as Mohito's 'Slip Away', Milk and Sugar's 'What is Love?' Eric Prydz 'Things Can Only Get Better' and remixes of 'Revolution of the Heart' and 'Just Look at You Now' from this new album doing well in the UK Club Chart and other dance charts around the world.
It is not too surprising then to hear a strong contemporary dance influence on this new album. From the opening beats of 'Celebrate Our Love' the scene is set for an album that reflects the new twenty-first century Howard Jones. The classic Jones melodic song writing is still central to all the tracks particularly on tracks such as 'Respected' and 'Just Look At You Now'.
But it's the lyrics that have always been so important for Jones. A committed Buddhist, his fundamental belief is that the only way to make the world a better and more peaceful place is by changing the way we are on the inside...in fact by instigating a revolution of the heart. This album is also a celebration of love and its power. Lines such as 'synchronise 6 billion lives to one beat' say it all.
This new album is co-produced and co-written by Jones and
Robbie Bronnimann. Bronnimann is well known in the dance field for his work with projects such as Hydro, dba and tektonik^.

5.0 out of 5 stars Revolution of the Heart 13 Sep 2005
Format:Audio CD
I've bought the special limited edition of this album from Howard Jones' website; I also saw the songs played live at the launch party on September the 9th in Aylesbury. This album is Howard at his best. The songs are full of stonking drum and baselines, melodic synths' and thoughtful lyrics all mixed together with expert production; if you want a bit of raunchy guiter playing (by Robin Boult), then you'll love track nine - Stir it up. Howard's collaboration with Robbie Bronniman from dance act DBA has made this an album that's as good as - if not better - than anything in the dance charts at the moment. I would recommend Revolution of the heart not only for Howard's fans, but also to fans of good music. An album NOT to be missed!

5.0 out of 5 stars HOJO IS BACK. 12 Sep 2005
Format:Audio CD
Having received my copy of this cd today I can confirm that this rates as one of his best works. All the hojo magic is here and the sound is a mix of several of his other albums all put together with catchy dance beats. I have no doubt that if you liked what Howard has done in the past you will love where he is taking you in the future. A must have album for this year.ILOVE IT.

4.0 out of 5 stars The Acoustic non-sense is over! 17 Aug 2005
Format:Audio CD
Fortunate for classic Jones' fans like myself, Howard finally found his electronic equipment. I've listened to all the samples here and there's a boatload of spring in this man's step. I don't mean to say that his previous releases haven't had moments of genius, but listening to these samples here it looks as though REVOLUTION OF THE HEART is going to be a proper Jones' recording with hefty portions of the synth-grooves and melodies that made him famous. Dare I say, it reminds me of that little known classic HUMAN'S LIB. Loads of repeat listenability here.
