Two friends. An ancient book. One heck of a problem. Best buds Barry and Shawn hate going to school. Well, that's not exactly true. They go, but it isn't the most pleasant place to be, especially when Mitch Johnson makes a fool of Shawn in front of everyone. After stumbling upon an ancient spell book hidden in the school library, Shawn and Barry decide to play a prank on those at the beautiful Belinda's Halloween party, a party Mitch will be at with his jerk friends. First stop: the local cemetery. Except something goes wrong and instead of raising just one or two of the dead, the entire cemetery bursts to life and masses of living corpses go to work feeding on the living. Including Shawn. Heartbroken, confused and scared, Barry tries to escape the dead's clutches as life as he knows it falls apart all around him, leading him on a journey across Florida and into a battle bigger than anything he'd ever imagined or thought possible.

Creepy as hell!!

This book is truely chill inducing! Mr. Gouveia has a way with words! Unlike most horror/fantasy authors that bore you to death (no pun intended) with minutia, Keith heads straight for your jugular. As I read this book I could see the movie playing in my head and it was a movie that I'd like to see someday. It's a great character study with the two teens Barry and Shawn, how their friendship changes over the course of the book, how quickly their lives are changed for ever and of course the ending. The decription of the zombie attacks really keep you on the edge of your seat....or in my case the edge of my sofa. Even though it is a story about a zombie outbreak it is totally believable and it's definitely not one of those books that you put down and forget about. Once I finished it I wanted to read it again. Keep your eye out for Keith Gouveia I know I will!!

I just finished Revolt of the Dead. I really liked this book... finished it one reading, which I've never done before. This short novel is one heck of a page turner. I don't want to dip into the plot that much as I'm not a fan of 'spoilers', but reading this brought back memories of the 'Return of the Living Dead' franchise - before Rave to the Grave. It had a very '80's' feel for me.
I can't express how much everyone should take the time and read this work. It isn't the longest book, but it definitely packs a punch for its size and can't imagine why anyone wouldn't like it. I mean, who wouldn't want a magic book that brought back the dead? I would. Man, the fun I would have with that thing...
Needless to say, I'll be picking up anything with Mr. G's name on it. He has definitely proved himself a talented writer and GREAT storyteller.
GET THIS BOOK! It deserves a spot in every 'genre enthusiast's' library.

Keith has a very intuned imagination!He makes you feel and see the characters and visualize the scenery.The suspense level is unpredictable and keeps you not wanting to set the book down.You always want more and can not wait for the next book to come out.
