There was a time when this package was necessary if you wanted to fly the Forgotten Battles campaigns on the Pacific Fighters version of the IL*2 engine.
Now, you can buy 1946 and get all the campaigns and missions in one package, there is a lot more in 1946 than just this, Pacific Fighters and Forgotten Battles, though those in themselves are a huge number of potential "flying" hours.

Fun:
... the purchase turned out to be a failure since all of the content is available on the Ubisoft IL-2 Pacific Fighters CD. This Ace Expansion Pack is only relevant if you want to upgrade an older IL-2 Sturmovik with more planes and missions. However, I would much recommend buying the Ubisoft IL-2 Pacific Fighters CD and get the newest version of the entire IL-2 series.

disapointing A/C choice
I was expecting a better choice of A/C now that a campaign in the West had been added, but sadly no. Very few Britsh types which was a disapointing. Read more

Game came, game played and reviewer was beaten by Son again as with most PC games these days. it was here in a couple of days and was as expected a good Sim.
