It covers all of the sciences fundamental to ophthalmology: anatomy (60 questions), physiology (93 questions), pharmacology (36), pathology (33) and microbiology (42). I sat for Part 1 MRCOphth and passed the first time. "Revision in Sciences Basic to Ophthalmology" by R.Malhotra was a great help during the last 1-2 months of studying as it consists of structured questions about different topics, and the answers are supported by brief explanations which you can use as revision notes. I now bought the "Optics and Refraction" self-assessment book of the same series, which proves that i was satisfied with the book. However, be careful as it does have some mistakes which you can easily spot if you are using it during the final revision stages. Overall, a good buy!
