This book is perfect if you don't want to make your own revision notes. Each relevant topic that is covered in the curriculum has an introduction or revision to the facts we may have forgotten from the basic medical sciences from medical school. Each topic is also divided into the 2 of the 3 entities looked at from the marking scheme point of view of data gathering and clinical management (interpersonal skills would need practice, observation from others and may be reflected in the questions asked where there are many examples illustrated in the book itself.) The format of each topic within the each entities is perfect for how we should be revising for the CSA e.g - open question, the focused questioning and red flags, relevant PMH, family hx drug hx, social hx, ICE and examination etc. The clinical management also quotes NICE guidance where appropriate. At the end of each topic there is a section where it sets a situation for role-playing practice.
In the introduction, there are helpful tips on how to pass the CSA and how the exam is run which is the most up-to-date at the time of writing, as I just completed and passed mine. In the appendices, there is a useful section on different and common examinations of certain systems from cardiovascular to the mental state examination.
I feel this book is more useful than the other revision note books, but I do strongly recommend a companion with this book that focuses on just case scenarios - where you can practise more complicated scenarios with the addition of more detailed feedback.
Good luck!!
