As with most of this series the books are good. But overly diverse to cover all exam boards, and the detail is only enought to get you a grade C/B. I never found a good revision book for English/Literature but in all subjects the Letts Revision Guides are limited.

Without a specific body of knowledge, English has always been a difficult subject for which to revise, especially considering the range of different examination boards' approached to it. This studyguide is, therefore, general in its approach as it tries to covers as many different examination boards syllabi as possible. However, there is a lot of useful information in it which can be applied to a range of boards.
The Literature section is more helpful, simply because the skills involved can be applied to a range of texts, although there is still the problem of specific application to one board. It covers poetry, novels and plays and informs students about many of the issues involved in studying literature in an interesting way. Not the best but a very useful guide.

Rather useless

This doesn't really give any information that I couldn't already figure out on my own so I just felt that I wasted my money in buying it. Also, make sure you know what company you test with before buying this. It is not for CIE!
