A Kid's Review
Format:Paperback
I am sure every orthopod will agree this is a fantastic book with full of facts, each and every line infact each word is important, but in my view reading this book is very difficult because of the way of presentation, small print and poor diagrams(not coloured) and makes it very difficult to retain the facts. In the next edition if the editor addresses this issues it will be no doubt the Bible of orthopaedics.

Still not perfect 30 Aug 2009
By GC
Format:Paperback
Although this book appears to be widely accepted and recommended as the FRCS Orth revision 'bible', this new edition is still plagued with errors that remain uncorrected from the previous edition. I was also hoping the images would be updated and improved (there are at least 4 different drawings of the physis, each with different names for each layer/zone). Some subjects are covered in much broader detail than others.
Unfortunately this book will not give you all the information required to pass the exam; a decent amount of background knowledge is imperative. I am told this is essential reading for the MCQ but do not take everything it says as gospel (e.g. tibialis posterior innervated by the median nerve!) As it stands, however, it still remains arguably the best text out there (I'll confirm this if I pass the exam...!)

It is a very good book, though it needs few time revisions to master its contents. Very condensed revision book, packed with facts. Truman part is poor. Tables and figures are very important. Early preparation for the exam is advisable.
