Product Description

Review

"The book starts with an excellent review of basic science, followed by 15 parts, each dedicated to a specific topic in orthopedic dysfunction.  All sections have excellent quality illustrations and photos.  Previous editions have been very popular with residents and medical students and I am certain this edition will be equally popular.  It is good review to use in preparation for in-training or certifying examinations" - Riad Barmada, MD(University of Illinois at Chicago College of Medicine)

"The reader can expect to find a rather complete explanation of the condition and the current methods of treatment. Its real value. is a review source for the orthopaedic resident or as a quick reference for the practicing orthopaedic surgeon" -- JBJS

"Previous editions have been very popular with residents and medical students and I am certain this edition will be equally popular. It is good review to use in preparation for in-training or certifying examinations. However, if detailed or in-depth information is needed, readers should seek out other references dedicated to a particular topic."- Riad Barmada, MD (University of Illinois at Chicago College of Medicine) Doody review!

I bought the kindle version as I thought it would be helpful to have a more portable version. Most orthopaedic surgeons will be familiar with the fact that this book is essentially a series of nested bullet point lists, and it is not uncommon to find bullets nested 5 layers deep.

Unfortunately, in Kindle format, huge left margins are added to each level of indent. This leads to large sections of the book being squashed over to the far right of the screen, as a comically thin column. This is just unforgivably bad. Did nobody think to test this on an actual Kindle or iPad?

5 stars for the paper version

2.0 out of 5 stars Kindle version does not work 15 Nov 2013
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
The kindle version is poorly done. Many paragraphs don't display appropriately, occupying only the outer right 10% of the screen at times. Many pictures are cut off at the right side displaying about 70% of it. Maybe it was meant to be a revision feature to see whether you can guess the remainder of the classification? Check out the Young & Burgess classification in the Trauma Section.

Several text boxes are so small you would need a magnifying glass to see it properly.

I think the kindle version needs a complete overhaul and all customers who have already got it should get a free corrected copy.

5.0 out of 5 stars kindle edition Miller's Review of Orthopaedics 30 Sep 2013
By DBEZZ
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Content is excellent, however, for some unfortunate technical reason, on iPad kindle the points were initially all presented in line with each other with no indentations to distinguish more clearly between the points and their "sub-points"; extremely confusing display of points unlike the real book and PC version of kindle. Luckily upgrading to newer version of kindle e-book sorted this problem most satisfactorily. Awesome!!!
