Pacific! reveries is one of the best albums of 2008, no 2 ways about it. It is nice, chill pop in the best sense of the word. It is not some wannabe indie that so many bands are doing now, it is real talent. Cant say the same about their latest album, Narcissus is no good. If you like good pop, get Reveries.. enjoy!

A strange one and not my usual cup of tea. Pacific! are a Swedish duo and you can tell as the music is a bit too corny to be produced on British shores. The music is synth-pop with Beach Boys-esque melodies and shades of Daft Punk (without the edge) and hints of Erasure and Abba, which makes sense given the Scandinavian connection.

The only stand out track I can think of is Sunset BLVD, a serene hug-yourself-and-sway (not that i do!) disco track that is very catchy. The rest of the album more or less skips you by without you knowing, but becomes slightly more interesting background music from Number One onwards, particularly Poolside Bungalow.

Corniness aside, I have to say the album does have a pacifying! and serene feel to it and is good background music. An electro-idyllic robotic serenade, quite good as tube listening.

Indeed, a worthy purchase! 20 Jun. 2012

"Pacific!" is a Swedish synthpop, electronic pop music group that shot to fame with this - its debut album. It can be greatly appreciated by all those who have loved and enjoyed, over the years, the music of pop groups such as A-Ha, Modern Talking, Bad Boys Blue, Baccara, Michael Learns To Rock (MLTR), the Electric Light Orchestra (ELO), the Beach Boys & in more recent times, Daft Punk.

Synthpop (also known as electropop, or technopop) is a genre of popular music that first became prominent in the 1980s, in which the synthesizer is the dominant musical instrument. This album is addictive - it combines a foot-tapping pop rhythm with mellow vocals. Enjoy the depth, richness and clarity of the sound recording that this cd possesses. It is one of those albums that positively 'grows' on you - you like it better & better with each hearing! One of its peculiarities, is that this cd can easily be played at a loud or soft volume (depending on the need &/or mood of the moment) and it would be just as enjoyable. The packaging is neat and compact - no complaints there.

This is one of my favourite electropop cds - it occupies a place of pride in my cd rack - so should it be for you too! It's what I would call a worthy puchase - it is value for every cent that you will pay for it!
