Product Description

Only the Trinity can stop the vengeful god Orlac from destroying the Land. Yet the Trinity itself remains a mystery. Saved from death by a powerful act of Spiriting, Torkyn Gynt completes his healing in the sanctuary of the Heartwood. But Orlac's powers are waxing, and time is running out. Torkyn is forced to spread his resources thin, sending his spirit companion, Yargo, to find the three mysterious Stones of Ordolt, while he sets out on a dangerous mission to track down his enemy, Goth. But Tor's quest is sidetracked when his falcon, Cloot, is captured by pirates and he himself falls victim to slave ships. In Tallinor, Alyssa believes her beloved Tor is dead and must find the strength to forgive the King who ordered his execution. Meanwhile, the Paladin gather around those they protect, unaware that a new terror is emerging to threaten the Land ...

Great series 23 Mar 2010
Format:Paperback
As said by some of the other reviewers, I am surprised that other people have given this series such a bad rating as I thoroughly enjoyed the series. It has one of the best openings that I have come across. Like the other reviewers I have no read most of the Fiona's trilogies and thoroughly enjoyed all of them. In fact, when describing this series I always add 'Worst trilogy ever'. This makes my Mother laugh, as she recommended this author to me and has similarly read most of her books.

I really enjoyed this second book in the series and could not wait to find out what happens to everyone in book 3.

Fantastic 22 Aug 2011
Format:Paperback
This a brilliant series of books, very engaging and rich in detail. As for the person who left a bad review about details not being correct, this a fantasy series, normal rules don't have to apply and you have obviously not read the first book in the series, as you would know the falcon was previously a man.

okay premise but badly written
An okay but rehashed story line is marred by bad writing, two dimensional characters, repetition and amazingly bad research. Read more

it's hard work reading her books though once you've bought the 1st in a series you have to get the rest to find out what happens in the end.

Not gritty, not realistic, mushy sentimental fantasy at its worst
Completely agree with the Mills and Boon aspect of first review, all the beautiful characters are the 'good guys', and the single ugly man, happens to be the most wicked of the... Read more

Wrong, wrong, wrong
Ok, so I'm being a tad pedantic. But I do dislike bad research in books. In this series, and I will admit this is as far as I have got, one of the essential main characters is a... Read more

Fun but a bit disappointing
I really enjoyed the first book in this series and, though this novel was pretty good, it didn't live up to my expectations. Read more
