5.0 out of 5 stars Sustained pace, cinematic scope, a winner! 5 Feb 2013
By Jacqueline - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition
Revenge of the Damned, STEN #5, is best described as MAJESTIC.

The canvass is huge, the focus sharp, and the story unforgettable.

I know because I didn't forget it for decades, and then hugely enjoyed rereading it and parking quotes on Kindle's "share" feature. You know (for 5 novels already) what absolutely has to happen, and when it finally happens, you just can't wait to see what happens next. That's what I call compelling writing.

And there is a next book, so keep reading!

The masterful plotting and writing of Cole and Bunch makes the Sten novels easy to read, deceptively easy. You just flow with the story, but the thing is then you find yourself thinking about what happened, how and why, and after you've grasped the novel itself, then you SEE the relevance to today's headlines. I mean "today" (the 2013 and forward) today-today! Now note these books were written a while ago, and inspired by world politics of the 1970's seen as the recent past, yet the futurology is spot-on. They are about today and tomorrow.

You want to write books that last and last? Study the Sten Series! You just want a whopping good read? Grab the Sten Series. It's got audiobook editions, too. Search audible.com or iTunes.
5.0 out of 5 stars Poor editing. Amazing story. 20 April 2013

I wish they would edit this. It is an amazing series. But all of the errors make it... poor. I hope that the other books I intend to purchase are edited better.
