I decided to buy this item as a Birthday gift, after much pondering, thinking it would be more durable than the smaller, cheaper models. I was wrong.
Straight out of the box the UK adaptor did not work, and everything looked a bit too plasticky and cheap. This already gave us a bad impression, but we could have overlooked it if everything else had been fine.
The first day flying the helicopter, after careful calibration, we noticed it would not move forward or backwards (on the slow setting, we did not have time to try the fast mode). The third time it tried to take off, the piece that holds the top blades in place snapped at the base, with the blade intact (thus not because it had accidentally hit something). The helicopter crashed out of control, luckily we were not too close when that happened, since we might have been injured.
I can understand that a piece may have a defect, and snap for no reason, but this added up to the other two problems. Perhaps I am being unrealistic, but I was expecting a better quality for this price.
All in all, a big disappointment, especially considering it was a Birthday gift.

This is my first 'outdoor' helicopter and I have loved every second of flying it. It is (for me at least) easy enough to fly so that I can do it, without being so easy that it becomes boring. If you are flying outside you must have a decent space to do so and there must be almost no wind; coaxial helicopters like this one have very little forward speed so if you are not careful you can end up flying backwards over a hedge! It is pretty durable and weathers light crashes very well, but the one bad thing is that when you crash it more heavily (and you will) getting spares can be difficult. Revell do have a website but it is in German and it only delivers to Germany and Austria. Thanks to a very helpful person at the Revell UK, I eventually got flying again but it took the best part of two months. Revell should really have sorted this out before marketing it in the UK.
