Synopsis
Written by David Seltzer (The Omen), Revelations is a religious mystery that was originally shown as a television mini-series. Physicist Richard Massey (Bill Pullman) has been coping with the murder of his daughter at the hands of a murderer claiming to be sent by the devil himself. Despite being an avowed atheist, he is contacted by Sister Josepha Montefiore (Natascha McElhone) who is investigating unusual religious occurrences taking place around the world. Sister Josepha believes these events are the beginning signals of the apocalypse as foretold in the Biblical book of Revelation. As she tries to convince Massey of the truth behind these signs, he confronts his daughter's murderer and begins to suspect that perhaps the Sister is correct. But if a massive disaster is coming, can Massey and Sister Josepha do anything to avert it?

Revelations is a series full of suspense, action and horror on a biblical scale. I won't spoil anything, but if you are into epic stories about the battle between the the forces of light and justice versus darkness and evil, then you should pick this one up. The series have good production values, and the actors are great. The excitement and tension builds up in every episode, and our two heroes, the reluctant scientist played by Bill Pullman, and the young nun with her strong christian faith, must face many dangers and obstacles put in their path. The demonic powers are intent on creating hell on earth, and only a few good people stand in their way. The scientist and the nun have one hope, finding a child whom they believe is Christ reborn. But the demonic powers also want to find this child. The quest to secure the holy child, leads them all over the world, which is on the brink of Armageddon.
A higly enjoyable and exciting series, but the final episode is a bit of a letdown. As with another good series, "Surface", the ending is to rushed. They probably ran out of money, or someone decided to cancel the show. But that said, both series were highly entertaining while they lasted.

The genre is something I like the sound of. I took a punt and bought it because some of the reviews sounded good. The plot is fairly basic and really my only main complaint is that it is really slow getting started

For those that fancy a cocktail of horror and thriller genres, with a familiar religious theme in the mix this is a good little show- nothing monumental, wont blow your socks off...has been done before, but the show is well acted, any effects used are good ...kinda the 'easy watching'of horror where REM are the easy listening of rock,...enjoy

I ordered this DVD from reading other reviews. It kept me hooked from start to finish and is well worth the purchase if you like exorcist type of films. Quite scary.

quick delivery, good condition, an interesting storyline, but if you're looking for something Biblically correct, this does have a few discrepancies.
