Product Description

In this third Jane Perry novel, Laurel Dewey takes Jane out of Denver to the small town of Midas where the Chief of Police is a close friend of Jane's boss. Jacob Van Gorden, the fifteen-year-old son of a prominent area businessman, has disappeared and all signs point to his abductor being Jordan Copeland, a man who committed a similar crime decades ago. Jane settles into this little community for much longer than she wants, living with a preacher and his family (including their eccentric teenage daughter who was Jacob's girlfriend). There are signs that Jacob is still alive, so the clock is ticking. And as Jane investigates Jordan Copeland, she begins to have doubts about his guilt and begins to uncover signs of devastating &ndash and even deadly &ndash secrets all around Midas.

Meanwhile, Jane must deal with two considerable secrets of her own. One hits her in the gut before she leaves Denver and the other creeps up on her from the most unlikely of places. And on top of this, Hank Ross, owner of a bar in Midas, has somehow managed to find a way beneath Jane's armor-plated defenses, forcing her to contend with feelings she hasn't allowed to surface for a very long time.

Revelations is the most powerful and personal Jane Perry novel yet. Teeming with the passions and ambiguities that make Laurel Dewey so compelling to read, it is a breathtaking story of mysteries revealed and withheld.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfectly blended suspense thriller! 9 Aug 2011
By Jappa
Format:Kindle Edition
I literally couldn't put REVELATIONS down and found myself somewhat disappointed to reach the end - which is always a good sign, in my `book'. The writing itself is fantastic, with excellent flowing description of the characters, their locations and, in some cases bizarre, actions. The author seems to blend the emotions, thoughts and motivations of the characters perfectly in keeping with their personal stories and interwoven plot lines, making them all totally believable. Along-side this is a keen observation of both human nature and the world we find ourselves living in, combined with a sprinkle of wit and great authentic dialogue that I find really endearing.

I'm glad that I've read the previous books in the series as the development of the main character, Jane Perry, has been good up until now - but gets even better in REVELATIONS. As the title suggests, the story is not only about Jane getting to the kidnap victim in time whilst battling small-town mentality and the obstacles thrown in her way and revealing the criminal, but also about uncovering more of her past and character. If you haven't read the other two books I would definitely start there - just so you don't spoil the enjoyment for yourself. In my opinion they are so consistently good that if you like one then you will like them all anyway, so you might as well start with the first one, PROTECTOR.

A great read that I definitely recommend for lovers of thrillers with lots of mystery and suspense that keeps you guessing right up until the end!

5.0 out of 5 stars Revelations... was just that ! 21 Jun 2011

I have just finished reading this book - and wow... it was actually brillaint. I feel like I have grown with the lead character after reading all the previous books and I have grown more attached to her as the books progress ! It is a credit to Dewey's writing that I now care immensey about this girl and want her to suceed in every way. This is a brilliant story with lots of layers - a really good mystery which is well written and well thought out. Also, I like the fact that it makes reference to previous stories and carries a theme through. It doesn't shirk away from the nasties but is not too gruesome either. Great charachers which, love 'em or hate 'em, they pop off the page at you ! I read 2 books a week so for me to put this in my favourite category is a big deal for me. I stayed up til a stupid time to read the last 50% in one go as I couldn't wait to see what happens at the end... and a brilliant hook to get me desperate for the next one... Hurry up Laurel !!

This is a well crafted story with good characters. At points it seemed a bit long but overall a very good book. I would read another book by this author.

Although slow to get going, this story has more twists and turns than a mountain road! It will keep you guessing up to the very end. Loved the story could not wait to find out the truth, well written.

This was the first Dewey book I've read and to be honest I couldn't put it down. She puts the clues there for you to assess and work along with Jane Perry. Ok there is bad language which I normally don't like but it fades into the background with the characters. I liked it so much I have just finished reading her very first Perry novel 'Protector' again brilliant.
