Unusual Angles of Interesting Sci-Fi 10 Dec. 2011
By stoney - Published on
Format: Paperback
Revelation Range takes place in the near future following a colapse of our country's government, economy, resources, and society. The Pacific Northwest and especially Oregon is the location of the action. Without giving a lot away, things are much different than today. The environment and society are not what we now know. It's almost every man for himself much like in the old west where gangs and cattle barons rule. The friend or foe difference depends on who has what and how much one has to trade. In many cases it's kill or be killed and watch your back because no one else will. This is the first of a trilogy so don't expect resolution or an end to things yet to come in this book.

I am not generally into Sci-fi. Revelation Range was recommended to me by a friend. I began with some excerps and became interested in the general flow and especially one particular character and group. A tremendous amount of background information is available in the various appendices provided in the back of the book, which I should have studied before beginning to read. As it was, I was a bit lost in reading without that background information.

The artwork of the cover is interesting. The format of Chapters and breaks in the script was new to me so my comfort level was not yet extablished until about halfway into Revelation Range. (That is normal for me.) Character development takes a little time but is very good. I can't wait for Books 2 and 3 to be published so I can find out what happens to the good guys and what bad guys receive their just rewards.
