Excellent selection of photographs, 13 Feb 2010
This review is from: Reuters - Our World Now 2: v. 2 (Paperback)
I own the previous Our World Now and was very impressed with the quality and content and price. I wasnt sure that this second volumn would be up to the standard of the orginal but its equally as good if not better. Very thought provoking and a good reflection on the state of the world.

Great Photosurfing! :), 5 Dec 2009
This review is from: Reuters - Our World Now 2: v. 2 (Paperback)
I bought the first
Reuters - Our World Now book (which covered 2007) last year and, after finding myself 'surfing' it far more than I'd expected, I didn't hesitate to add this to my 'coffee table' collection. This (which covers 2008) is almost identical in format, so if you enjoyed last years edition buying this should be a no brainer. This time around, there are a few single page essays on various stories which do add another dimension, but other than that it is pretty much the same.
For those who didn't read the first edition. The format for these books is simple: there are four sections, each covering 3 months. Inside these, there are lots of different series of single or double page photographs (usually 8-10), followed by a single page with thumbnails and descriptions of each photo. The photographs mainly cover culture and current affairs. From Hollywood, to Gaza, via Olympics, the US presidential elections, the global economy meltdown and (you've guessed it) Amy Winehouse. The scope of subjects is broad and diverse, and given that you get 368 pages of quality photos, at under a tenner, you can't really go wrong.

Fascinating, often moving, photography of major events on our planet. Hopefully Reuters will continue this tradition.
