This is a beautifull record, it is very pleasant to hear, I play it again and again, it is the same sound, the same voice, maybe the songs are not as rocky as badfinger, but they are in the same key, some slow, some more rocky, a record product of the experience of years, congratuations Joey you have made a great recording ! I have all his solo recordings, you won't be dissapointed. Recomended plus.

Joey Molland's latest album comes some twelve years after his last one, and it has to be his best collection of his songs yet. Joey deserves much greater recognition for not only keeping the Badfinger flag flying, but for his own songwriting skills as well. This is a brilliant album for those of us who love and grew up with the music from the 60s and 70s. Some of these musicians from those decades are now unbelievably making the best music of there careers, Joey should be at the forefront of these artists. Okay, the voice might not be quite up to that of a 20 something, but these songs are just brilliant. If you like catchy songs with lyrics that actually mean something, then buy this C.D. and give this guy the chance of some recognition that he so deserves.

BRILLIANT MUSIC FROM JOEY THIS IS FANTASTIC C D.I HAVE BEEN A FAN OF JOEY AND HIS WORK FOR FORTY YEARS.WHEN PETE DIED I THOUGHT THAT WAS THE END OF BADFINGER BUT JOEY HAS KEPT THE MEMORY OF THE GROUP ALIVE.THIS CD SHOULD BE A MASSIVE HIT AS IT IS BETTER THAN THE RUBBISH IN THE CHARTS NOW.
BUY THIS MASTERPIECE AND YOU WILL BE WELL PLEASED.

Here is where you will find the wonderful rhythms of 60's past............where they never went away!. Age and looks don't matter here (Sorry Joey!). His songs old and new are always of relevance and are ageless.......This album puts you back where your from. Enjoy

HASH(0x8a97e9c0) out of 5 stars Strong Effort 8 Feb. 2014
By STEPHEN SHOOP - Published on Amazon.com
No, this won't remind you too much of Badfinger, but that's not the point. This has some of Joey's best solo work to date. The feel, pace, singing and playing have almost a hint of "Sticky Fingers" era Stones or "Exile on Main Street" to them. Just a wee hint though - seriously - just a trace. Joey's backed by some fine female singers and some excellent "area musicians" who manage to give the disc a "feel" all it's own. The songs are just "different" somehow. Maybe it's that "Memphis" feeling coming through, but I got the feeling that Joey was relaxing, enjoying the playing, and letting the songs go where they would. I definitely enjoy this disc (But full disclosure here - Joey has never done anything that I didn't like - I'm a fan). The only track I could have lived comfortably without is "Ship to Mars." I would have preferred a reworked "What You're Doing" from Basil. That seems like it would have responded to well to a treatment from the players on this disc.
I am very pleased with this disc, I highly recommend it. It's been ruling the airwaves around here lately.

Though this is a departure from the power pop badfinger sound it's all Joey! Great songs, great singing and playing, a long awaited treat. Thank you for all the music and keep rockin!

HASH(0x8a9c8240) out of 5 stars Artists Have To Follow Their Muse. 23 April 2014
By cordell jeffries - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Audio CD
This is the record Joey Molland wanted to make at this stage in his life, and in the end, that's about all any musician/artist can ask for. When I listen to it, I hear a lot of living in it...hard living. The smoking has definitely taken its toll. The music business -- as Molland's experienced it -- certainly has as well.

As much as some seem to want to "erase" this guy from Badfinger, the guy had/has some chops. Songs like "Sometimes" "Sweet Tuesday Morning" "The Winner" "Love Time" "Love Is Gonna Come At Last" and "Come Down Hard" hold their own with any of the lesser-known fantastic Badfinger tunes.

Fast forward to here&now, and this record has Joey Molland sounding like the grizzled rock & roll road warrior that he is. It isn't always pretty, but it's absolutely real. And that has to be worth something.

If you get the chance to see him, do it...his music and the life he's lived certainly warrant the $15 cover charge. 2 1/2 STARS.

HASH(0x8ab69edc) out of 5 stars Somewhat bland - voice is shot 21 Feb. 2014
By Fred Gladden - Published on Amazon.com

Joey Molland had some nice solo material out, especially with his After The Pearl album which should be on CD, but isn't. He wrote some great songs with Badfinger. This album has really mediocre material. Oddly, he uses all kinds of references to Beatles titles and lyrics, while also copping a great Pete Ham song's title "Walk Out In The Rain," as his new tune here. HIs voice is also ravaged from years of smoking. I guess there is a quality in that which will be sympathetic and moving for certain fans. The production is courtesy some Memphis vets and they do a yeoman's job. Very basic and solid with a lot of female singing. One's taste will come into play as far as whether that works for you. The saddest part is the lack of memorable melody. It is missing and Joey has had a knack for that in the past.
