10 great songs full of moog, distorted guitars, pat wilson's drums and lovely female harmonies!

Matt Sharp left Weezer after Pinkerton and formed his own band - The Rentals. This is their debut album. It's not too different from early Weezer, just with added moog and female vocals. The songs are tight and concise, as if a machine is churning them out, using the same formula! This makes it a bit one dimensional but it works well as a whole. Waiting, Friends of P and Please Let That Be You are highlights but it's best listened to as a whole and turned up loud!
