Return of the Legacy (Portals of Destiny) [Kindle Edition]

I don't write that many reviews, but I had to write this one for a fantastic book that transcends dimensions and time. This book introduces the reader to new worlds that will amaze you, a villain you will hate, and two lovers you will champion to the end. I have to give KH LeMoyne a pat on the back for writing a book with a great suspenseful plot, plenty of twists and writing that wouldn't let me put the book down until I finished it.

RETURN OF THE LEGACY is what character-driven fiction is about. I'm not sure whether or not to classify it as fantasy or romance, but it doesn't matter. Bri and Logan sizzle on the page, and Lemoyne paints a vividly magical universe, while touching on themes of gender class and inequality that will resonate with modern readers. I highly recommend this book!

What can I say about KH LeMoyne's Return of the Legacy? She blew me away with its plot, depth of characters, and world building. Each character in the story had a unique voice. Within minutes of meeting them, I could tell who was speaking.

To save her brothers, the heroine, Bri, used magic. Unfortunately, she had never been trained in the art and was using her mother's book--her mother who was a very powerful magic user. Bri manages to save her three brothers and herself when they're thrown through a portal into different dimensions. Oh, did I mention they are being chased by an evil sorcerer--who wants their power--and his unstoppable minions? She also hasn't learned how to control and use her magic. To be fair, it's kind of hard to learn to use something when it's been suppressed. But Bri manages and in the process grows into the woman we all would love to become.

Fate brings our wonderful hero--who on Earth is the protector of his family--and his cousin into Bri's realm. Logan's an empath and dealing with guilt over not saving his father. While he's an alpha, he isn't overbearing. He understands his magic and knows how and when to use it. He also recognizes Bri's magic and guides her growth.

The romance grows organically. The attraction is there from the beginning, but Logan lets Bri come to him. Hot, loving sex occurs naturally as the two realize they are soul mates. The hottest scene takes place after Logan is poisoned by a minion, and Bri is fighting to save his life and soul. Can't tell you more without ruining the book.

I can tell you that finding this new author has thrilled me. KH LeMoyne has moved to my must buy list. And her second book, the one with Logan's cousin had better come out soon. I don't know if I can wait. So, Ms. LeMoyne, I'm begging, bring out the next book. I sure hope it's Logan's sexy, hot cousin's story. I'm already licking my lips.
