Format:Audio CD
This was the Slits at their most experimental, and arguably at their very best. It only seems to be avaliable in Japan now, but with brilliant tracks like 'Earthbeat', 'Face Place', 'Improperly Dressed' and 'Life on earth', it's an absolute must for fans of not only the Slits, but Kate Bush, Bjork and the Banshees too. If you liked 'Cut', you'll find it strange at first, but eventually well worth the purchase. Please re-release this in England. It's absolutely ridiculous that it hasn't been re-issued already.

for some reason, this lp has never had the reputation of it's predecessor, Cut. But to my ears songs like Face place, animal space and earthbeat are superior to anything on Cut. It's more African influenced rhythmicly than Cut, and with the highly idiosyncratic vocalisms that are a Slits trademark.
One of the most underrated albums of the era.

This album is simply brilliant. Not easy listening if you are into "pop" or middle of the road music. You need an educated ear to appreciate all the idiosyncrasies but if you can learn to love it then you'll be rewarded with an album that you never get tired listening to. This one was made in 1981 but is still way ahead of anything coming out now, you can see it's influence starting to come through in younger generation of artists now though. The best albums in the world are like friends - the ones that take time to get to know stay with you forever!
